Publisher's summary

Buffalo Valley, North Dakota. A few years ago, this was a dying town. Now it's come back to life!

People are feeling good about living here again - the way they used to. They're feeling confident about the future.

Stalled lives are moving forward. People like Margaret Clemens are taking risks on new ventures and on lifelong dreams. On happiness.

Margaret is a local rancher who's finally getting what she wants most: marriage to cowboy Matt Eilers. Her friends don't think Matt's such a bargain; neither did her father. But Margaret is aware of Matt's reputation and his flaws. She wants him anyway.

And she wants his baby….

never disappointed in Debbie Macomber

I like the mutible story lines, practical life situations and Christian perspective. I do enjoy the favorable endings.

Surprising How This Story Held Me

Deborah Macomber once again has drawn me into her story. Narrative was usually right on.

Good series

I love the story not fond of narration. The voices were distracting. needed a man's narration as well

Could of been good

I was hoping that the mom and daughter story would of been better, if it had been written with some reality. No mom can be as stupid as this one. Who doesn’t open their mouth and tell her kid the truth. Also hello stop coddling and have some balls and force your kid to talk to you. And for the love of all stop flipping apologizing and begging your selfish heartless kid to be a decent person! The rest of the story was great. Loved the story of Maggie, and Matt! My heart ached for Bob, his character was probably my favorite. Overall I would recommend reading the series!

Frustrating

I really like Debbie Macomber. I don’t understand how this book is her product as 90% of the time I was ready to turn the book back in. Among other small plot lines the story involved three major frustrating situations: one with a out of control teenage girl with a vicious attitude and tongue; one with a heartbreaking child abuse case; one with a conniving, manipulative, vindictive, morally corrupt woman. One of these in the story would have been bad enough but they almost totally consumed the story and I found myself so upset throughout the book that I had to keep stopping the narrative to find something else to focus on before I could calm down and go back to it. I like Macomber because though her stories have conflict, there is a moral point to be made and things resolve for the best in the end. It’s normally not so full of angst as to send the reader into a depression with virtually no relief in other parts of the story to balance the conflict. I listen to audiobooks to lift my spirit and this story did the opposite.
