Publisher's Summary

Can Terra choose between her mate and her adopted daughter?

Ember is a bloodling, a werewolf born in lupine rather than in human form. The wolf pup is the perfect blend of rainbows and chaos, bound to bring a smile to everyone's face. But Terra soon begins to wonder whether it's truly in Ember's best interests to raise her adopted daughter as a wolf.

As a bloodling himself, her mate Wolfie adamantly opposes the idea of forcing a shift on their charge before her time. But when Wolfie is called away and Ember's sadistic biological father demands his daughter's return, Terra is faced with a difficult decision.

By werewolf law, a shifter has come of age and can make her own choices after her first transformation. But while forcing Ember's shift prematurely would allow Terra to keep the pup out of the hands of her biological father, the act might drive Wolfie out of both of their lives forever.

Alpha Ascendant is the engrossing finale of the Wolf Rampant trilogy that begins with Shiftless and continues with Pack Princess

A satisfying and delightful conclusion...

This engaging tale is a fitting finale to the Wolf Rampant series in that it allows so many issues to be satisfyingly resolved as we see Terra further develop into a more confident pack leader and we witness the further evolution of her relationship with Wolfie. Loyalties are tested, danger is never out of the picture, and family ties are explored. This most unusual pack of werewolves, halfies, and bloodlings have much to weather and that makes for a fast-paced and gripping story.

While this is the third and final book of this series, do not despair, the amazing characters and their wonderful world are not forever gone. Thankfully, the author has chosen to continue their stories in other spinoff series allowing us, as readers, to revisit them at our leisure.

I would be remiss if I did not mention that fans of this series will only augment their enjoyment of Ms. Easterling’s creativity should they choose to listen to the audiobook version of these stories. The narrator, Kelly McCall Fumo, gives an excellent performance and adroitly channels each character’s personality, emotions, and underlying motivations thereby allowing her to give each character a unique and fitting voice. Whether reading and/or listening, this is urban fantasy at its finest.

While I did purchase a copy of this book, the author provided me with a free audiobook copy and I am voluntarily offering this honest and unbiased review.

If you find this review helpful, I thank you for so indicating.

Great conclusion to this series.

I have really enjoyed this series. This was the first in the series that I listened to on Audio. I loved it. It held my attention. The character interactions explored a lot of difficult topics like insecurities, prejudice and power struggles and the Author handled them well. This book leads smoothly into Fen’s story which is also an excellent read. I love Aimee’s books, the colorful world she creates and the lovable characters she writes.

Great Series Ending Story!

In the final book in this series, you see everything come together from the previous books leading to both endings and beginnings. Terra and Wolfie have to fight for their family and pack while finding their footing as co-alphas of their new pack and solidifying their bond as mates. Ember really starts to become her own little person, and if you love her in this story, be sure to read the series about her when she gets older. And Fen plays an important role in this book that leads into her own series as well.
Once again, the narrator does a great job bringing the story and all the characters to life while filling the story with all the emotion and animation it deserves.

Half wolf heaven.

The narration was perfect for this story letting me almost take part in the events and letting the words bring it to life. l found the book interesting, full of community, action and friendship although it was not all plain sailing for this bunch of wolf shifters.
