Publisher's summary

Two psychics plunge into a dark world of deadly secrets in this second installment of the Fogg Lake trilogy by New York Times best-selling author Jayne Ann Krentz.

North Chastain possesses a paranormal talent that gives him the ability to track down the most dangerous psychic criminals. When his father suddenly falls into a coma-like state, North is convinced it was caused by a deadly artifact that traces back to the days of a secret government program known only as the Bluestone Project. North knows his only hope of saving his father is to find the artifact. He is good when it comes to tracking down killers, but to locate the relic hes going to need help from a psychic who knows the shadowy world of obsessive collectors, deceptive dealers, and ruthless raiders....

With her reputation in ruins after a false accusation, antiques expert Sierra Raines is looking for a fresh start. She turns to the murky backwaters of the paranormal artifacts trade, finding and transporting valuable objects with a psychic provenance. When North Chastain approaches her for help, Sierra takes him on as a client, though not without reservations. North represents the mysterious Foundation, the secretive organization established to police the underworld populated by psychic criminals and those, like Sierra, who make a living in the shadows of that world.

North and Sierra soon find themselves at the scene of the Incident, which occurred decades ago in Fogg Lake. The town and its residents were forever changed by the disaster in the nearby Bluestone Project labs. The pair unearths shocking truths about what happened that fateful night, but they are playing with firesomeone in town knows what theyve discovered and will do anything to make sure the secrets stay buried.

Way better!! Good job JAK

I was weary of buying this book because I felt only mehh about the first one of the blue stone series but I’m glad I took a chance. I enjoyed this story a lot. The first story irritated me because it felt like a miss mash of harmony and arcane books but seemingly disregarded the books I’ve spent years reading. However this book made mention of arcane and the Jones clan. I personally find it hard to swallow that a paranormal organization called the foundation has no prior knowledge of the powerful Jones family or the arcane society but it is what it is. Just those few mentions gave me hope that the series will in some time blend eventually. My personal hope is that this series becomes the origin story of harmony and ghost hunters guild, but that’s just a little wishful fan fantasy. The only reason I gave the performance a four star was because the readers voice could get painfully screechy at times. All in all, good story, good performance and I’m looking forward to the next book.

Excellent sequel with stand alone storytelling.

This second book could stand alone but it makes a great addition to the serious. Unique storylines with strong female characters. Yeah for that! Just fun to listen too.

Another fabulous story

I love JAK’s world and characters. It’s so nice to get lost for a little while in a place where the bad guys (and gals) get what they deserve and the good guys get their happy endings.

Excellent Character Development

I actually loved this book the characters were three–dimensional with a great story line. Not boring different that what we are used to reading. Yes it ends up being a romance but its all the turns and bends that it takes to get there that make it so interesting. A woman that hasn't found her nitch yet, with a man that she needs to help so that he can save his father. Just great reading without being depressing. Clever second book with a good lead in to the third. I know I am not telling the story but that would just mess up the book. Read it you will enjoy it. I was pleasantly supprised.

Paranormal delight

I so enjoyed the first Fogg Lake book and the second book I love even more. Sandra Michelle, the narrator did a superb job with all the different character voices in this book, and there were a lot of characters. I loved the banter between the main characters and the plot twisted and turned many times. A very enjoyable listen for me.
