Okay. But. ***Spoilers***

First I’d like to talk about the things that I did not like.

One. The “hero“ of the story was an ass at the beginning and, in my opinion, still continued to do assholery things throughout the story. The cheating part is what made my hackles rise. “I was drunk.” BS.

Two. Although I appreciate the fact that the young woman had had some really difficult things happen and that she was being abused, when the cheating event came up, I thought she rolled over far too quickly. I, for one, would have needed to have a SERIOUS talk with Gunnar. I tried to give her a little benefit of the doubt because she was an abused wife, but still.

Three. The narration was rather dull and it sounded like it was narrated inside of an echo chamber. It did not sound like the inside of a good sound studio or sound room. Those aren’t that difficult or expensive to set up, and the narration could’ve been much better. Plus, the narration was really, really stilted. There was not enough emotion or the emotion was misplaced. It could’ve been a lot better. The narrator had a good voice, but because of the lack of a good sound room and the odd emotions, it did not come across as professionally as it could have been. In some places it almost sounded a little rushed.

I would have liked to have seen a little bit better development of a couple of the characters even though sometimes it seems that there were too many, if that makes sense. The story was good and I did listen to the whole thing in the course of one evening.

i liked this story...it was unique.. but the robotic voice made it a lil flat.... but once/if you get passed that it's a good book.

The narration was painful

I don't know if I can fairly judge the story because the narration was so painful to listen to. The narrator read the story as if he were reading a technical piece of writing. There was virtually no attempt to make the tone or inflection of his voice match what was actually being said.

Poor narration

If I were an author, I’d be devastated to hear my hard work read this way. Monotone. Lack of normal breaks/pauses when speaking. It’s one long run-on sentence. Couldn’t even finish this!

POOR NARRATION

I really wanted to get like this book but it was difficult to engage due to the poor narration. The reader sounds like h’e using an old tape recorder in an open space; and he’s very one note.
