The stunning national bestseller! Wendy Walker's All is Not Forgotten—the basis for the major motion film Gone But Not Forgotten—is a twisty, edge-of-your seat thrill ride from beginning to end.

“Fascinating and at times shocking.”—Mary Kubica, New York Times bestselling author of The Good Girl

Everything seems picture-perfect in the town of Fairview, Connecticut, until one night the unthinkable happens: a young woman, Jenny Kramer, is brutally attacked at a local party. In the hours immediately thereafter, Jenny is given a controversial drug to medically erase her memory of the violent assault. But in the weeks and months that follow, as she heals from her physical wounds, she wrestles with her raging emotional memory.

Jenny’s father, Tom, becomes obsessed in his quest for justice though her mother, Charlotte, struggles to pretend this horrific event did not touch her carefully-constructed world. Soon the fault lines within their marriage and their close-knit community emerge from the shadows, where they have been hidden for years. Meanwhile, Jenny remains haunted by what she can and cannot remember. . .and her attacker is still on the loose.

Slow Moving and Mostly Boring

This book disappointed me, as I thought the subject matter would be more about the story of this poor girl who was horribly assaulted. It turned out that it was more about how the human psyche works and reacts to all the different events in life that happened along the way to the conclusion of this story. Found myself not wanting to go on but had to keep on because I wanted to know if the perp was found and punished, etc. It had a couple of interesting twists but not enough for me to call it a good story.

All is not forgotten. Until the last chapter?

I enjoyed the premise of this book. Debunking the Treatment as a cure all. But I always find it a cheap shot to put the main part of the story into the last paragraph. Sorry because I just don’t like getting whiplash at the finale. Ps Dylan Baker is always great .

Really keep you interested

Parts of this book are hard to read, so be aware of that before you start. However, it is intelligently written with an interesting view of false memory. I recommend the book.

Why 5 Stars?

How do these writers come up with these stories?!? I was captured from the first few sentences spoken on this audio book and could not rest until I finished it. So many twists and turns but so 100% likely to happen in real life. What an interesting point of view it was told from - that in and of itself was brilliant and very interesting. The writer would have had to do some real research to be able to address the mental side of therapy that was laid out for us. I rarely rate a
book with 5 stars but anything less for this book would not be fair. Loved it!

Graphic Content

I enjoyed this audiobook, but the descriptions of rape were too graphic. I will look for the next book from this author, though.

review

The narrator was great but the twists and turns were a bit too much. I found myself wanting to skip ahead just to get to what really happened. I enjoyed Emma in the Night more

Had me enthralled the whole time

There were so many twists and turns in this book. I know I should've seen some of them coming but Wendy Walker is a masterful storyteller. I am grateful that all ends were tied up - I was afraid we wouldn't find out who did it. I'll be looking for more of her books.
