This could be Dexter Morgan's sister!
Any additional comments?
Stacy Green's Lucy Kendall is so highly suspenseful with a totally twisted plot. This book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole book. If I didn't know better I would think she was Dexter Morgan's sister! She is an ex child protective service caseworker who has left her job not able to deal will the injustices of the legal system when dealing with crimes perpetrated on children. First she makes sure her suspect is a repeat offender. Once she's exhausted her sources and is sure rehab of an abuser has failed the person mysteriously dies of a heart attack.
This book has a few characters that make you scratch your head and wonder - good guy/bad guy and it's not until almost the end of the book that you find out just which side everyone is on. The relationships between the different characters become blurred at times but by the end of the book there is resolution.
Joy Nash did an excellent job narrating this book. She kind of reminds me a little of Kristen Potter (DD Warren series).
My only gripe is that out if a series of 5 books, this is the only ONE on Audible.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Is vigilante justice justified?
Luce Kendall worked for social services before becoming a private detective. She believes based on her own observations over a long period beginning in childhood that pedophilia cannot be cured, so she decides to take justice into her own hands when the legal system fails.
All Good Deeds is an outstanding suspense thriller with lots of plot twists. Narration by Joy Nash is as good as this novel.

Lucy's dark side has light in it
This is a GOOD book both to read and listen to. The story deals with something that is unfortunately real in this ugly world we live in. I listened to the audible version and could hardly stand when I had to pause for other things that needed my attention. The narrator did an excellent job. Too often I listen to a book that is good as a read but the narrator spoils it. Not so in All Good Deeds! My first Stacy Green book but definitely not my last!

An interesting start
Lucy Kendall is an ex-CPS agent turned private detective. In Lucy's lifetime she has experienced just enough atrocities against children to put her over the edge, so when a child goes missing in her childhood neighborhood, she is on the case whether the police want her there or not. When past wounds are opened and circumstances spiral out of control, old truths are brought to light. This was a good start to a series, had good characters and a fast paced storyline. Even though parts were disturbing there was enough excitement to keep me interested from the first page to the last. Joy Nash's voice was a good fit for the main character.

Held my attention, but . . .
I have to admit that I listened all the way through to the end of this one . . . and I've listened to two previous books by the same author, really liking her writing (Tin God and Ashes and Bones) a different series . . .but this series is darker, justifying murder, even glorifying it . . . I kept listening to learn the outcome of the kidnapped little girl . . . and hoping, beyond hope that Lucy, the former social worker, turned private investigator, would see the error of her ways . . . the story line was interesting, the characters gained my empathy, and the evil done to children certainly stirred my anger . . . however, I found the lack of any moral absolutes disappointing . . . the mystery was resolved satisfactorily . . . but I won't be moving on to the next in this series . . .

When is Murder an Acceptable Outcome?
Under what circumstances would you take it upon yourself to murder a person who has escaped "justice" through the legal system? He's guilty, there is no doubt. You have the proof. Would you kill him? Would you kill if the lack of justice allowed a man known to be a child molester to go free and commit more crimes? Would you murder more than once? Is murder an acceptable outcome when justice falls short?
This question is at the core of this story. It may bother you as it did me. The author assumes we will empathize with the main character, a woman who has taken it upon herself to pick up where the justice system failed or left off.
I just couldn't quite buy it, thus the story just didn't pull me in as it might have. Yes, I finished the book. It did keep my interest. But I just didn't like it so much. Life isn't always fair or just. But there is a line for all of us to draw and in this story, the author drew it on the far side of morality, ethics and logic. And ironically, justice wasn't really served.

A Good Read.
This book has a solid storyline that is consistent from start to finish and promises a follow-up to deal with evil characters who escaped justice during this timeline.
