💔 Heroine: Jade

Jade grew up learning that love wasn’t always unconditional. Her globe-trotting parents preferred chasing adventures to raising a child, so she was left in the care of her aunt—who quickly became her entire world. Now in her mid-twenties, Jade is struggling to move forward after the recent death of that beloved aunt. Her life changes dramatically when, during a late-night walk with her Chihuahua, Vork (adorably named after a hero from her favorite alien romance), she witnesses a strange light in the sky. Within moments, Jade and her dog—safely tucked inside her shirt—are abducted by aliens.

True to her fiery spirit, Jade refuses to be a passive victim. She fights back hard during the abduction, even breaking her arm in the struggle. Once aboard the spacecraft, however, she experiences alien medical technology firsthand as they heal her injury with a flash of futuristic light. Along with three other human women, Jade is transported to a distant world and forced into an arena-like coliseum. The stands are filled with alien spectators, waiting to watch as four massive alien males are paired with the newly captured women for something called the Galaxy Games.

Bahros’s childhood was a nightmare. At just twelve years old, an evil alien warlord wiped out his entire people, leaving Bahros the sole survivor. Taken captive, he was imprisoned alongside three other young males who would eventually become his chosen brothers. Their captor conducted cruel and invasive experiments on them, forcing mutations meant to create weapons of war. Bahros was given gills and fins, as well as enhancements to his mind.

But Bahros and his brothers were clever. They hid the full extent of their abilities, pretending the experiments had failed. Eventually, their captor sold them to the council as little more than broken gladiators to be used in the brutal spectacle of the Galaxy Games. For Bahros, this new life became less about survival and more about reclaiming agency—and maybe even finding freedom.

When the four alien males are ordered to choose human partners, Bahros immediately selects Jade. Though she resists at first, their bond is undeniable. ✅ What Hit Home

• The bond between Jade and Bahros developed organically through teamwork, mutual sacrifice, and shared danger. Their relationship felt earned rather than rushed.
• The fated mates twist was a fun addition—the moment their hair tips turned light blue was both visually striking and symbolic of their unbreakable tie.
• Jade’s reluctance made her journey to love more believable. Watching her go from guarded skepticism to wholehearted devotion was deeply satisfying.

⚠️ What Felt Worn

• The Galaxy Games concept, while entertaining, leaned heavily on tropes popularized by The Hunger Games. Some of the scenarios felt predictable rather than fresh.
• The narration occasionally veered into melodrama. The overacting lessened the impact of some emotional moments, making them feel exaggerated instead of powerful.

🎧 Narration Breakdown

This audiobook employs dual narration, switching between Jade’s perspective (Tawnia Murray) and Bahros’s (Lance Greenfield).

• Tawnia Murray delivered a strong performance with a smooth, pleasant voice and a polished British accent. Her narration brought a sense of elegance and clarity to Jade’s story.
• Lance Greenfield leaned into emotional expression, sometimes over the top but often compelling. While his voice wasn’t as deep as I usually prefer in alien romance heroes, I found myself growing fond of his style as the story progressed. His portrayals of female characters, however, didn’t always land convincingly.

📝 Final Thoughts

This audiobook blends sci-fi adventure, survival trials, and fated-mates romance into a high-stakes intergalactic spectacle. While the Galaxy Games setup borrows familiar beats from dystopian competitions, the chemistry between Jade and Bahros injects the story with heart and intensity. The blend of action, danger, and romance will appeal to fans of both alien gladiator stories and star-crossed mate bonds.

The narration is engaging despite a few quirks, and together, the story and performance create an addictive listen. If you’re in the mood for danger-filled alien romance with a side of cosmic spectacle, this one is worth queuing up.

This series really is amazing and need to catch up with the other books ✨✨✨

Bahros, Jade and Vork the dog

This one was a lot of fun. I laughed a lot. The MC’s are so good together, their witty banter and s*xual innuendo. Jade the FMC was kidnapped while walking her chihuahua. They were both taken and forced to participate in the galaxy games with Bahros (MMC)

Bahros has no experience with females but he has been taught how to pleasure one. This was a really cute, fun quick read and I am going to continue the series.

Interesting Storyline

Storyline was interesting, held my attention most of the time. Characters were interesting. Narrators did a good job.

Very enjoyable. Great little story. I loved that the FL worked hard to overcome her fears.
