Publisher's summary

When it comes to finding a mate, should something so important be left to technology?

Bound by duty and a contract between Trilyn and Earth, even a prince has to learn his place. But when it comes to matters of the heart, sometimes there are no rules.

There’s nothing romantic about choosing your mate with the help of technology, and there’s nothing Prince Darbnix's less interested in than using a scanner to find his true love. But he’s also tired of fighting with his older brother about them. A human plot almost tricked the eldest Trilyn prince into marrying the wrong woman, but Darbnix has other plans. He’ll go through the motions of the grand parties, to please his brother, but his heart won’t be in it.

When the pact between the Trilyn and Earth was solidified, Dr. Rose Rand decided that the future of her veterinary career lay in exo-livestock, and the care and healing of alien creatures fascinated her. But when she was called upon to examine a royal pet, she never imagined that she would be falling in love with a Trilyn prince intent on giving up his search for a compatible bride.

When Prince Darbnix’s match is found in a Southern beauty queen, someone he never would have chosen for his bride, his suspicions flare. Can he and Rose discover the truth behind the manipulation of the compatibility scanners and reach their own happily-ever-after? Or will Darbnix have to turn aside his love for Rose and follow his brother’s command?

Alien Prince's Mermaid is the second book in the Trilyn Alien Fairy Tales series. This is a science-fiction romance story featuring a compassionate human female and a dominant alien prince in search of his true love. Each book in this pause-resisting science-fiction series has no cliffhanger, no cheating, and a guaranteed happy ending!

Tall aliens

Very good listen, it’s not heavy which I like. Narrator did fine not great with female voice but good enough.
I got a code for the books , but I really did enjoy the book.

Mermaid?

What an interesting story. Not sure about the mermaid, maybe she got cut out or perhaps it was a play on words. Like all love stories there are ups and downs. This is the third time I am trying to place this review. I enjoyed it very much. I received this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

strange but good

This story had a few spots that were strange towards the end, but in all it was good. This audio book did not have the editing errors the first one did.

OK

I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. Ok so the southern belle starts to tell who was tampering with the scanners and suddenly she begins to swell up and everyone runs. She turns into a bomb and blows up. Someone is still messing with the scanners. So why do they keep using them? Who knows? There were no mermaids in the story but a good story anyway. Loved the ending. Oh yeah, that pet was awesome as well. He almost took the cake for best character.

I LIKED IT!

I enjoyed it! The narration was good. It will keep you entertained. This author did a good job with the characters. This was not my first book by this author, I read the first book (Alien Prince Charming) and enjoyed it as well. I look forward to reading more of her books. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Fun and gritty.

Found the book intense in the second half of the story. However like all good romances, love conquered evil.

Fun Listen!

This is the second book in the Trilyn Alien Fairy Tales Series, a sweet Sci-Fi Aliens Romance. I loved the story of Darbnix and Rose and I loved their HEA and the Epilogue. The narration is well done. Chase Ripley has a great voice, easy to understand. This was a fun listen. Great idea, not the writing style for me

This audiobook has major editing issues - see below book summary.

The humanoid Trilyn race of aliens has succumbed to a virus that has rendered their entire race infertile. Upon a pact with Earth, the princes of Trilyn have stationed their shaceships in the Earth's atmosphere to find earth women that are biologically compatible mates for the princes, to help repopulate Trilyn, in exchange for advanced Trilyn technologies. The top Trilyn scientists have come up with devices that, using info from each individual price, light up when pointed at said mate. So, the princes hold big balls on their ships to find their biomates. This story is about the eldest son Prince Gardax (soon to be king) and his search.

Orphaned during the last Earth war at age 13 or 15 and left in charge of her much younger sister, Amy Allen (now in her 20's) is an employee for the catering company hired by Gardax's ship. They provide daily food to the ship 24/7 as well as special events hosted there. The owner of the company, Darla, found Amy soon after her parents died, living in the street and took her in. The loving Darla soon showed her true colors: she's a slave driving bitch who works her employees to the bone and belittles & guilt trips them as often as she can. Amy just wants to make a life good enough for her sister to do all the things she was never able to do: attend college & live a happy life. Her world is turned upside down when the prince bursts into the kitchens one day, demanding to know which one of the kitchen staff is his mate. Darla schemes to make sure she gets the prince, while Amy falls head over heels for the prince. Who will get the Prince and how far will the go to win him?
-------
I bought this book (1) because I received book #2 for free for an unbiased review and wanted to make sure to start at the beginning of the series. I know there are plenty of people who will absolutely love this book and I thought it was a great story idea, but once I started listening I realized that it wasn't for me. The Prince is a pushover with no backbone and if he's supposed to be next in line for King, the Triylan people are doomed. It bothered me so much that I didn't want to finish, but again, I needed to read book 2, so I powered though. I liked the main character Amy quite a bit, but the way she was written was pretty whiny and we heard the phrasing "but I have to keep going for my sister" about every 10 minutes in the female chapters. This book is written with each chapter in the individual's voice.

PUBLISHER/AUTHOR PLEASE READ: While the narrator Chase Ripley did a fine job, unfortunately the audio editing has many issues ... as in, maybe it didn't get edited? There were quite a few instances where the narrator did multiple takes of a line (normal), but the bad takes weren't edited out. Many lines had repeat beginnings, or repeated words. Quite frankly, the publisher/author/narrator should consider having an editor listen to it again, fix it, and completely resubmit a new file to Audible & other places it's sold. It does NOT need to be re-narrated, like I said Chase Ripley does a fine job, it just needs a thorough re-edit.

Great book

This is the second book in the Trilyn Alien Fairy Tales Series and focuses on the second prince brother and the problems he faces to find his genetic match. Of course doubts for the BIAS scanner has been the main focus, due to the fact that it was sabotaged with his brothers match in the first book. We learn in this book if hackers are able to end the relationship before it even starts
