New to Tracy-Lauren but instant fan!

The book are quite detailed with a great storyline. I am an avid reader with over 4,000 ebooks/audiobooks. I enjoy finding new or new to me Authors I can enjoy. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who likes a little bit of everything in their romance books.

Good story

Wasn't sure what to expect with this one but it's good. Characters are likeable and pace keeps moving. Narrators are good. One thing that is odd is the man on the book cover looks human-like but he is described as a large gargolye, grey skin, horns, tail, fangs and runs on all 4s. Somehow they are mates and it all works out.

He was far too amenable. She was too accepting.

This was a nice story that could have used more conflicts between the lead characters and she should have had more concerns about her future.

Pleasantly surprised

I wasn’t expecting much. But it was like a space opera when read aloud. At some points it lagged like every story, but overall I was very impressed.

Awesome story

I love this story and the way it is told and I love the Narrator Noel Bridges.(I wish she still did narration, but she retired) and Mason Lloyd. They do an awesome job together with these books.

The heroine: Kate - She works hard to pay her bills and take a few classes a semester at the local community college. Most recently she has been working as a bank teller though she hasn’t been doing well since her drawer never totals up exactly as it should. One night as she is just about to fall asleep, everything goes silent, a light shines through her window and everything goes black.

The Hero: Rennek - He spent time in the UPC (military) before getting called by his true family to work for them. Him, his three friends from childhood, and a new friend who helped him out of a sticky situation, work for Rennek’s true family on his cargo ship. They are acquiring alien species of animals in order to populate a terraformed planet.

The Story: Rennek and his mates work with other ships who do acquisitions on foreign planets, though Rennek’s brother wants them to get a good variety of different types of fauna, many of the aliens they work with tend to only gather small animals to be sold as pets. So when they meet with some alien pirates, and ask for some larger creatures, they are surprised to see that they have human females for sale.

The “Gargoyle guys” as Kate refers to them, kill a few of the slavers, take as many of the women they can and barely escape on their cargo ship. The women are still in fear for their lives even though they think that these guys were helping them. Though there is still a language barrier which makes it difficult to ask the guys to bring them home to Earth.

This book is told in dual points of view via dual narration. The narrators are Mason Lloyd and Noelle Bridges. Both narrators I am very familiar with and have done the narration on more than a few alien romances. Mason has a nice voice and speaks in a stilted cadence which is perfect for alien males. Noelle has a soft but clear voice that is intelligent sounding and she is great at showing emotion, exasperation, happiness, frustration and other things through her voice.

The only reason I don’t give 5 out of 5 for narration is because I give that to full cast audiobooks or books with duet narration where the male narrator does all the male voices and female does all the female voices no matter whose POV the chapter is in. Dual narration, like this one is where the male does all of the voices in the chapters told from the male characters POV and likewise for the female.

I really liked the story in this one. It had a few different settings including a spaceship, space station and an uninhabited alien planet. It had great storylines which included the slave trade, alien mafia types, crooked men in the UPC, Rennek and the guys had a backstory that involved another race of people and quite a lot of action and adventure. There was a great and steamy (but not too smutty) romance between the two main characters.

cute and enjoyable story but disappointing male narrator

This was a cute story that was very layered, and I enjoyed a lot. The characters were well fleshed out, and the romance flowed nicely. It is a complete book but with plenty of room remaining to flow nicely into future books. That being said the male narrator was annoying to listen to. I've listened to him before and his "accent" is so incredibly annoying! I can't think of a better word, I just found him so annoying to listen to I preferred the females narration of his parts more enjoyable and I HATE opposite sex narration. I would recommend listening to a sample before purchase, otherwise the story itself was great.

Not my norm, but glad I tried it

I would not typically choose a sci-fi title but was quickly swept up in this series. I was initially a little put off by the make narrator's style but was able to change my perspective by remembering he's supposed to be an alien. I loved the female narration. My only disappointment is that they didn't complete the series into audiobooks.
