Story
Wayne Gamm was born on a remote sheep farm on a mountainside in north Wales on a stormy night in June. The midwife and even the family itself wanted him to be delivered in hospital because he was going to be large and he was Gwynedd's first baby, but for reasons that will become apparent, his mother and grandmother, Rhiannon, thought that might be very dangerous. All of Gwynedd's family had been born on the farm, Yr Ardd Y Ddraig, The Dragon's Garden, for as far back as they knew - a family Bible put that at 324 years - and they were all either witches or warlocks.

August 1, 1914, Berlin: Kaiser Wilhelm II cancels the German invasion of Belgium over the objections of his generals, sending his armies east against Russia instead of west to France, and sets off a chain of events that will radically change the course of modern history. Gray Tide in the East is the best-selling counterfactual history of the First World War, if the Germans had not invaded Belgium in 1914 and thereby brought Great Britain and, eventually, the United States into the war.

The last thing these Eundai need is to be overwhelmed with human technology. History is filled with examples of primitive cultures being ruined after initial contact. Publisher's Summary
Michael has lived with his Thai wife in Thailand for 12 years and Spain for two, but failed to get her a residence permit for the UK. She was sent back to Thailand and he moved back to his home town of Barry in South Wales to try to "get her in" before Brexit. The chances are slim, and he sinks ever deeper into despair even sleeping on the beach to save money. In truth, he starts to lose his mind with worry and loneliness. He won't even go to his family for help, because he feels that they have shunned him, but is he right?
One day, a chance accident brings him into contact with four people who change his life forever, but who are they and where do they come from. His alter Ego, Ralph, makes fantastic insinuations, but could they be true?
Alien House is a fantasy, but the problems within the story are very real for thousands of couples especially with Brexit.

This book is not what I expected. I went as far as I could but I got more bored by the chapter until I decided I could not put any more time into it. It was not the worst, but it moved so slowly at times I could barely stay awake.

Incredible~~ <3
I really wish I didn't wait so long to review this book because now I forget a lotta stuff. But I usually take notes because I listen to everything in my Library and review everything. SO, I go look at my notes. And they were bad. Then I re-read the summery of the book and OOOOHHH yeahhh..... This book was Phenomenal. I just checked to see if there was a number two, but alas, nothing yet. The narration was excellent. The book was smart and the entertainment never stopped. If you guys have any similar books, throw them my way and I promise a review. I was extremely impressed! Keep up the great work guys!!!

The characters are charismatic and alluring. The storyline is powerful and imaginative. The narrator Matt Jenkins brought it all together with his amazing voices. Emotional story but narrator is very flat
I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this book, but it certainly wasn't what I got.
The actual story is incredibly heartfelt, it's about a man who is doing everything he can to make a life for himself and his wife, except go to his family for help as his pride won't allow him. When faced with admitting to strangers his current homeless situation, his life slowly begins to change, as does he, for the better. Through encouragement and cojoling from his new friends he reconnects with his past passion of designing and building and in doing so reconnects with his family.
It is actually a very sweet story about how a little act of kindness can help change someone's future.
The only drawback to this audio version was the narrator, he was very flat, expressing almost no emotion throughout, the whole story was told in the same plodding monotonous tone, which did at times detract from the quality of the story.

I started reading the book and to be honest i loved the book even before i finished it. All the characters were equally important, easy to understand and enjoyable. Michael's struggle shows that how hard it is if someone failes to get a resident pemit. his alter ego Ralf who is makes insinuations. So yes, this was more than a readable book.

i read this story Alien house by Owen jones. The story was about a man called Michael's struggle to get a resident permit for her wife as she was sent back to Thailand from Brexit. I liked the story because it shows many real problems which may face any couple specially in Brexit. Very much close to the ground
