Publisher's Summary

On a drowsy afternoon by a riverbank, a young and distracted Alice follows a rabbit into a fantastical underground world that grows curiouser and curiouser. Dared, insulted, amused, and threatened by a succession of anthropomorphic creatures, the indomitable Alice falls deeper into a swirl of the imagination where logic has no place.

Referenced, resourced, analyzed, and embraced since its publication in 1865, Carroll's masterpiece of the irrational has inspired such varied artists as Walt Disney, Marilyn Manson, Jerome Kern, James Joyce, and Tim Burton. It stands as one of the most extravagantly and ingeniously absurd works in the English language.

Revised edition: Previously published as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, this edition of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland includes editorial revisions.

Weirder than you might think

I honestly don’t quite know how to accurately describe this book. First of all, the performance by Michael Page was quite good, and overall the experience is good.

But man! That story is just so weird! It really is just a series of totally random and completely insane occurrences. There also is no particular point. No one thing drives the story forward. Alice just goes from one random weird encounter to another. Then the author pulls the “it was all a dream” at the end and the story is over.

Weird.

Classic

Classic story everyone thinks they know from Disney. Not so fast. There are a number of things in the original that did not make it into the movie or that were added too. Give this a listen and you may be surprised at what you hear. I know I was, and most pleasantly.

Awesome Narration

I liked the narration a lot. It felt suited to the time the story was first written and it added more intrigue to the already bizarre world of Wonderland.

Definitely A Classic

Great offering from Amazon Classics. Well read (i.e. engrossing) and a good amount of content for the price.
