A classic done justice by superior narration

I listened to this story with my 8-year-old thinking that he would need some explanation with the bazaar and fantasy laced happenings in Lewis Carroll's classic. However, he was son enchanted by the job JD Kelly does with the narration, he didn't interrupt the story a single time. Between Kelly's natural accent, combined with the various character voices, it made for a delightful 2.5 hour listen with only one short break. Excellent rendition of a classic tale which I would highly recommend. A review copy of this audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in return for this unbiased review. Didn't know what to expect

First of all, the performance was amazing, can't argue with that. The many voices and tones were done perfectly.

Second, I honestly didn't know what was the book about, I only knew it was a classic, so I went in without knowing what to expect. Oh boy, what a bizarre and wonderful book. So many riddles, weird dialogues, incredible characters. I loved it.

Charming and Fascinating

A classic from the past that anyone would find nostalgic. The book has always been one of my favorites and it will continue like this for a long while.

The reader was great. He was able to easily show the different characters through voices that didn’t seem strange or out of place (although most things in wonderland are).

Overall, it was a delightful listen and I would strongly recommend.

Alice In Wonderland, Need I Say More!

Most of us know the whimsical story of Alice and the creatures and people she meets ..this does not disappoint I had not read Alice before and completely enjoyed the audiobook..the narrator had a perfect voice for Alice and all those she meets in her Wonderland. He did some nice singing that fit as well
An excellent choice for adults to listen to with the children in their lives.

Still a Fantastic Book

What did you love best about Alice in Wonderland?

I loved that listening took me back to my childhood when I first read/heard these books and yet I think I enjoyed it more now as an adult than I did when I was a child; I was able to more fully recognize the brilliance of the nonsensical text, the riddles, the songs, the puns, the references, the characters, the creativity, the rich colourful descriptions..... I look forward to listening to it again, and sharing it with my child when he is older.

What other book might you compare Alice in Wonderland to and why?

If you enjoyed Alice in Wonderland, I would highly recommend also reading Through the Looking Glass (also by Lewis Carrol and featuring Alice).

What aspect of JD Kelly’s performance would you have changed?

I would have preferred that he try to sing the songs in the book. As it was, they came off more as reading than singing, and I have heard them sung wonderfully by other readers. Other than that, his narration was charming in terms of character voices and his accent.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh many times! Sometimes I went back a bit so I could hear certain parts again and really focus on the wonderful nonsensical writing.
