This book explains the roots of scrum

The author has explained about the various experiences that led to the development of various rituals in Scrum. Throughout the book the author has described how scrum can be applied not only in the software industry but also to common household chores, education, government and also towards making the world a better place.

I learnt a lot

I agree that Scrum if implemented in the right way as the author describes, will certainly help to speed up software development.

good summary of Agile, need new narrator

good explanation ornsummarization of Agile, covered the most important points of you are new to Agile or going for certs, worth it. Had trouble with the narrator, whose diction constantly shifted. I feel like he is a decent narrator but didn't prepare for this.

Good, if you can get past poor grammar/narration

I certainly understand scrum now, so mission accomplished. There are many other books on scrum though, so maybe one with less painful writing would be better.

I can't name the exact cause of all the word choice problems and narrator at times getting same things wrong that Siri/Alexa would. If I had to guess I'd say author hired freelance foreign writers to turn his outlines/ideas into chapters; didn't hire a good native-speaking editor; and then the narrator was too lazy (or too locked into a contract) to read anything other than what was literally written - typos and all. I'm all for using freelancers for such things, but hire an editor Alex.

The effect can be quite painful to listen at times but you can usually on play it back a few times until you get the word they were trying to use. That said, you ought to try another book first.

willingness to change

How many organizations out there can really sacrifice their old way of working and make drastic changes within themselves for a meaningful positive impact? The "willingness to change" in many organizations is highly questionable. Is there something we can do about it ?

A scrum is a tool that allows teams and organisations to enable collaboration and flexibility to be a part of the workflow. The book also provides information on the different parts of the Scrum team and their functions.
