Loved this!

Great story! Love to Caleb and Katie‘s relationship. Caleb was so supportive as he and Katie navigated her new normal. The narrator‘s were fantastic and is always lots of steam and great suspense

Caleb!!

Caleb was a dream! To find a hero that is willing to wait for so long for the woman he believes is his one, just gives me all the feels! I love how protective he was of Katie and how he didn't even bat an eye when she was seriously injured and needed some major rehab. What is there not to love about him?

Katie is a great characters as well. What she goes through after being injured takes a lot of bravery. I was so happy to see her and Caleb finally get together. What kept them a part at first is not my favorite scenario but it is real and ultimately showed how much Caleb had fallen for her. I really love to see that in a hero.

The storyline as usual was awesome! I'm a big fan of this authors writing and how she can pull me into a book so easily. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

Love Caleb and Katie

Loving this whole series. Caleb has had feelings for Katie but kept them to himself when she was with someone else. When she gets severely injured, circumstances might just give him a chance. Katie has only ever seen Caleb as a coworker and thinks he comes to see her after the injury because he feels obligated. Soon these two slowly start something together. Of course there is danger waiting for them with a new case that Caleb and GFI are working on and somehow Katie has become part of it too. Great listen, lots of hot and steamy times. Loved the suspense story going on around the couple. Narrators were great with these characters as well. Definitely recommend this series

Life Won't Wait

Would you consider the audio edition of Against Me to be better than the print version?

I don't find the audio version better than the print, just an enhancement of the author's thoughts and words. I loved revisiting the characters and actually hearing their voices rather than imagining them in my mind. I think the versions complement each other.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love Katie, even thought she's in a less than perfect condition, she's feisty and passionate. Having lost her family she's a bit lost but finds not only love but a family of friends with a bond as strong as any by blood in Cedar Tree.

Have you listened to any of Tanya Eby and Noel Harrison ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I always want to listen or read in one sitting, but the reality is is doesn't happen that way. But I listened while driving and doing things around the house as much as possible.

Any additional comments?

I first read this story almost two years ago and I loved revisiting the characters. The story is engaging and listening allowed me to take the story along where ever I happened to be going. I can't wait to listen to more of the series.

Oh my gosh! Caleb!!

Auidobook: Narrators - Tanya Eby & Noel Harrison

Another great narration by two performers who really know how to bring this author’s characters to life, vocally. I’ve enjoyed each book I’ve listened to them narrate and they are becoming the voice of this series.


I loved both Caleb and Katie! The fact that Caleb waited for four years for her was amazing! He was fierce in his protectiveness of her and grumbly when another man smiled or came near. All the things that make me love a hero! Add in the danger and drama that surround this couple and this book skyrocketed into the stratosphere!

The relationship is believable, the chemistry absolutely scorching and the plot kept me on my toes from beginning to end. There’s no question I’m in love with this series and only growing more in love with it the further I travel through it.

Such A Good Read!

There is so much I enjoy about these books. Caleb and Katie had great chemistry. I loved that this book was about a mature couple with real people problems.

I appreciated that Katie was more like a true to life woman with issues and insecurities. Katie had a certain body type due to the kind of work she previously did with Caleb as her partner. Due to circumstances, her body changed. Her hair changed. Her life changed, as it often does for real people. Caleb was there for Katie through it all. He still appreciated her for the woman she was and the woman she had become.

I like the way he was protective of her while still respecting her skills and talents. The support wasn't all one sided. Katie was by as side as he dealt with some of life's difficulties. She did it from a wheel chair and during a difficult time in her life.

I felt like the real life issues that Caleb and Katie endured only served to enhance the mysteries of the story with the cartel, Caleb's brother Mal, Katie's search for her birth parents, and who was after Katie.

There was a bit of everything in this book. Action, danger, suspense, mystery. Yet, there was also love, loyalty, romance, heat, a sense of family, and support, whether by blood or by heart.

I listened to the Audiobooks and thought the narration was well done by both narrators. They easily pulled me into the story and I had no problem with being able to distinguish the individual characters. I think anyone who enjoys romantic suspense would enjoy this book.

I do have one question. What ever happened to Caleb and Mal's father?

Welcome back to Cedar Tree, CO

This is a good series with older characters...late 30s/early 40s. The Cedar Tree crew are mostly members of the GFI Security. This story explores the relationship between Caleb and Katie. Katie is recovering from being shot while protecting her boss’s fiancée a year ago, and is in a rehab facility. Caleb hasn’t given up on her and is steadfast in his visits. When Katie’s life is threatened, Caleb decides that it’s time to make a move. Lots of action keep you engaged and the steamy moments ensure that you’re paying attention. Nice HEA.
