Publisher's summary

Waldo Rabbit is back! Waldo and Alice continue on their quest, now accompanied by the ogre Gronk. They are headed to Norwich, where they hope to find the third monster that will be Waldo's last familiar. But things are never as simple as they seem. An archlich, White Mage, and murderous rabbits all stand in the way. Yes, that's right, the murderous flesh eating rabbits make their appearance! Waldo is both the hunter and the hunted. Can he find his last familiar before his enemies find him? It looks like everyone is after the rabbit.

I feel cheated/ripped off.

Any additional comments?

1. Price! Check the length of the book before you buy. I bought this book as I liked it's predecessor and was excited for the sequel. Sadly I did not even think to check the length as the last book was almost 11 hours. When this book suddenly came to an end I thought it was a joke or something, I was thinking "Um... it should only be about half over at this point."

Typically I refuse to buy any book that does not meet or surpass the $1/hour value threshold. Consider that if you have the platinum account one credit equals just under $10. As such this book should have a length of at least 10 hours. It's not even close.

2. While the writing is good it is not an improvement over the first book and the main character is SIGNIFICANTLY lacking in growth. Shockingly so. I mean the fish out of water thing can be fun but let's consider the deceased equine fully pulped at this point. Honestly if he is this dense how in the world has he managed to survive this long?

3. This feels like they just rushed this to publishing in order to cash in as fast as possible. The book feels like it lacks structure. Like the author going to have some but then the editor said, "Nope you're done, we will just go with what you have"

It's sad as this is a fun story and the author had a good thing going and now he has lost me as a reader. I won't support this sort of bait and switch tactics. Honestly the audacity is bit much. NY Times best selling authors would never try and short change their readers but these people think that doing so if fine. GLWT.

Shouldnt be called book 2

While I really do love the book, the way it's written, the characters and the story. It was so much fun. but this feels like a cheap way to get more money due to book 2 to being just a few more chapters from the book 1. I do not appreciate this but I really do like the series

It Continues!!

Any additional comments?

This was a great sequel to the first title but was far to short and left me wanting much more.

This book really felt like it was just a chunk taken off the first book and published as a sequel. Besides that I enjoyed every moment. I had it already purchased before I finished the first and started it up the moment I was done with the other.

The narrator continued to do a great job and the editing seemed to be better.

More of the same(meant in the best way possible)

A direct sequel and more laughs ensue. If you've read the first one, you wont have much complaint aside from the fact it is slightly shorter. If you haven't read the first one......why aren't you? Fix yourself.

Book 1 was GREAT, this is sickening to listen to..

This may be a great book for certain audiences. If you do like hearing gay fantasy characters presented in flamboyant exaggeration akin to insensitive middle school D&D players trying to sound "gay" you may well like this book. I imagine the story will be good given Book 1. If you are in much way turned off by this kind of treatment this audiobook might sicken you. It may be that the printed book is an okay production and if so it is the narrator's fault at how bad this audiobook is. But since research into Mr. Chereta finds him surprised "sensitive" readers would like anything he's ever written, I doubt it's all the narrator's fault. Though a different narrative approach could well have made a huge difference. I liked the first one so much I listened to the whole thing straight through and then immediately bought and began this second book. Sometimes this sort of approach to "sensitivities" can be non-bullying and funny. This is not the case with this second book. If you feel strongly against the narration, you might consider avoiding anything narrated by Gary Furlong as well. https://www.audible.com/search/ref=a_lib_tseft?advsearchKeywords=gary+furlong&filterby=field-keywords&x=0&y=0

Read first book first, but this is a good read.

What made the experience of listening to After the Rabbit the most enjoyable?

Absolutely amazing. I love the concept and the characters are very fun. Shakespeare it is not, but if you are looking for good laughs and fun characters, this is the book for you. I cannot even remember how many times that this book had me busting out laughing out loud.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The main character is by far the most fun. It is his awkward reactions that really make this book so great!

Have you listened to any of Gary Furlong’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Great narration!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was a book I wanted to listen to in one sitting, and besides the occasional need for sleep, I did listen to it in one go.

Any additional comments?

My only complaint is that book 3 is not available on audible!

Nothing

All the elements are in this book but it never really comes together. It's working up to a great story but nothing really happens. Seriously, nothing. I will not get the 3rd, 4th, 100th, etc... At this pace, this will never end. 😴

A quirky but fun read.

This book succeeds through it completely silly nature. it's total disregard for established tropes is what makes it enjoyable even if you feel guilty for doing so.

Great irreverent story

Always enjoyable to hear a story with the villian being the hero, even if unintentional
