Unexpected ending

This was the first I had listened to an audible that was narrated by the author. I recently listened to another book with a male narrator, but this one just seemed more personable. He didn't try to sound feminine when a woman was speaking and I think that made a difference. The story didn't end as I had expected it would and I look forward to reading the next one in the series.
