Afshin Khan is a professional in the field of biotechnology, planetary and space system science. She has lead several space projects and also co-founded a biotechnology start-up. Today, as a post-doctoral fellow, she works on proteins that are responsible for DNA organization and their pathways, this might help us understand disease and prevent their progression. This kind of research is exciting because, it might one day help us become a multi-planetary species. She has also worked previously at JPL and DLR. In this episode we talk about microbiology and living in space.
