Determined to uncover the truth, she enlists the help of her cousin, the Artan, little knowing the answers she seeks may bring Rittean, herself into grave personal danger.

Meanwhile, The Hunter’s isolated lifestyle is fragmented by his ties to the Artan, the palace, the new fairy leader, and their need of his services. Try as he might to maintain distance between Rittean, the Moonkind, and himself, when the woman he still loves is threatened The Hunter will do anything to defend her. Including divulge truths of magic, thousands of years old, that could safeguard Aerisia or destroy it.

You can always find me listening to any good story about a man who will burn a world down to save the woman he loves, or does he? Jumping back into Aerisia we find Rittean trying to solve the hardest mystery of her time, that couldn’t be solved before, why so many elderly are dying. Can she figure this out before any very close to her are taken?

Enter The Hunter who she has always secretly (except to him and her father) loved so much who is willing to do just about anything to save her and what she cares most about. Enter characters we know and loved from before on this journey that, like a roller coaster might start slow as it builds and pulls us to the top, but the whips us through the plot and story while we have no way of guessing what comes next and who our villain will end up being. Ashwood brings us home in the best way possible and I can’t wait for the next installment to come!

Jaccyln James narrating is the best as her voice takes you right through everything the characters witness as if you are there perfectly. No one could narrate this better!

I absolutely loved this installment in the Aerisia series! After peace finally settles between the fairy factions and the Simathe, I thought things might calm down, but oh no, Sarah Ashwood had other plans. When Moonkind healer Rittean starts noticing the elderly of her kind dying mysteriously, what begins as quiet concern quickly spirals into a gripping mystery full of danger, ancient secrets, and emotional tension.

I was completely drawn in by the blend of fantasy, romance, and suspense. Rittean is such a strong yet compassionate heroine, and The Hunter, stoic, haunted, but fiercely loyal, adds the perfect layer of depth and longing. Their connection felt real, tender, and full of history, which made every scene between them spark.

Sarah Ashwood’s worldbuilding continues to amaze me. It’s vivid and detailed without ever feeling overwhelming, and I loved how easily I could picture Aerisia’s magical landscapes and feel the tension between its peoples. Every character, even the side ones, had purpose and life.

And I have to say, I listened to the audiobook, and Jacclyn James absolutely nailed it. Her narration brought every emotion and nuance to life; her voice fits the tone of the story perfectly. It’s one of those listens that makes you forget time completely.

If you love fantasy with heart, mystery, and a touch of romance, this book (and series) is a must. I’m officially hooked, and Sarah Ashwood has earned a solid spot in my top 10 favorite authors!

I’ve really fallen in love with this series! I have listened to them all on audiobook, including the other series which also takes place in Aerisia, and the narrator is one of my faves now. This storyline is unique, I’ve never read a book with these types of characters and plot, so it’s definitely worth giving it a chance if you’re into fantasy and mythical creatures. P.S. You don’t have to have read either of the series that take place in Aerisia before the other to enjoy these series, they take place in the same world, but they are independent stories, which is really cool!

I wish I was part of this world!

I enjoyed book two of the "Beyond The Sunset Lands" as much as the first one. Moonkind healer Rittean Wis’ Curlm noticed that Moonkind elders were dying in greater numbers than seemed reasonable. Rittean's search for answers put her in danger. The Hunter's abilities to protect Rittean were put to the test. I enjoyed being drawn into the world of Aerisia again. The characters were strong, fierce, and admirable. There was plenty of action and some edge-of-one's seat moments. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Jacclyn James' narration was great, and her performance enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review which included my opinions.
