Interesting adventures

This book was very interesting, but I felt it was a bit too clinical with the detail and needed more depth to the individual stories talked about. Overall I would recommend it to adventurous people. The story telling I feel should have been done by a professional reader, Ed’s story telling was a bit too monotone for me and needed a bit more va va voom to prick up the senses. But I really enjoy your tv docs Ed.

Reads like a travel brochure

A mix of articles on various themes. I found it a particularly odd writing style.

Loved it!

As someone who loves a travel adventure (although not quite as extreme as many in this book), my travel has been curtailed by Covid. This book gave me all of those travel adventure vibes I had been missing. Loved it

Interesting - could have gone deeper into the challenges though

I did enjoy everything in this book, but like other reviewers, I wanted it to go a bit deeper. I’d have enjoyed specific stories of people who have attempted these adventures and either succeeded or failed - for example there are so many interesting stories about people who have died on Everest or K2, it seemed lazy not to include some. Also, almost every challenge was rated 5 stars “people will write books about you”. This seemed a bit of an exaggeration for the challenges which he then went on to say could be arranged with a tour guide, eg going on a safari or a diving trip. Aside from this, I did enjoy the book and found it inspirational, and more accessible than I was expecting. I just wanted a bit more!

Good listen. Good for more extreme adventurers.

I always enjoy watching Ed Stafford thought I would give this a try some interesting stuff.
Maybe a bit extreme for weekend adventures but gives ideas and is informative.
