Understandable
Reasonably good, but not the best iteration of this sub genre I’ve come across. That said, I really enjoyed the modularity of the Xanthanite system, as that’s an rpg element that is relatively uncommon in litrpgs. Looking forward to the next one and further refinements.

A rough start... but then it gets WAY better
As stated, a rough start had me slightly agitated and seriously considering terminating the whole series. However I soldered on and was richly rewarded with a fantastic, engaging system apocalypse type story.
The MC is pretty decent and the storyline very engaging in the LitRPG universe. Will definitely continue the series.

Glad I tried
Tried this one more because of the narrator, Luke Daniels. Glad that I gave it a try. Exceptionally interesting, with a well thought out world, and characters that are not perfect, but trying to be good. Already bought book two, off to see if it stands up.
Highly recommend for any sci-fi/fantasy fan.
