Publisher's Summary

When ruggedly sexy backcountry guide Grey Lowell moves to Sterling Canyon, Colorado, after buying the ski-expedition company Backtrax, his plans don't include romance. Still, it's fun to look - especially across a crowded restaurant at a beauty he dubs "Bambi". But all his plans change later that night when he's injured by a drunk driver.

Physical therapist Avery Randall is shocked to learn that Grey's the man her brother struck with his car, and even more stunned when he arrives at the clinic expecting her help. Despite her reservations and Grey's silly new nickname for her, Avery agrees to work with him, and passion begins to simmer. Yet with his livelihood at stake, Grey must make tough decisions that could hurt Avery and her family. Before long, Avery's loyalties are tested, and the choices she and Grey each make may cost them their chance at lasting love.

Pleasantly surprised!

I'd never heard anything by this author before, and am so glad I stumbled across this book! There is honest depth to the story, AND some excellent hot & steamy bits. Liking forward to listening to the next one because, duh, Kate Rudd is one of the best narrators out there!

Beck's character development is phenomenal

I shy away from explicit novels, as they aren't my thing. This novel by Jamie Beck refrained from much of the cliché romance novel-esque wording and while I fast forwarded through the few explicit parts, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Beck develops her characters meticulously, and her storyline is fantastic. I appreciated her attention to details and the quality her book possessed. Great read.

So boring, I deserve a medal for finishing it

Boring romance with barely any climax to the story. The narrator had a voice that was dead with whiny inflections. I will add this narrator to my list of never again.

A VERY ROMANTIC STORY

This is one of the most romantic stories I have read. The characters were all well developed and easy to picture. I loved this story.

Full of melodrama if you like it

The story was a good premise and Kate Rudd did a great job of narration. The premise though interesting was the source of major conflict between the characters causing angst throughout most of the book. This to me made the latter part of the book to be a major downer. Avery made a terrible decision toward the end that seemed to indicate her loyalty to her family who were selfish, belligerent, concerned only with their possessions and problems over other innocent people.
I think most people unless major dependence problems would not have made that decision. To me it made forgiving her very difficult.

It was ok

It was an ok love story. Didn't really care for the ending. Averys character has no back bone. Didn't care for the father or Matt..

Mediocre at best.

Disappointed with Avery’s character. No backbone. Apparently in relationships, only the man’s perception matters. No compassion or understanding from him on her feelings or position she was in.

And could have left the sex scenes out. Unnecessary to the story and poorly written.

Fun and emotional

If you enjoy romances with believable ups and downs then you should give this one a shot.

I am glad I didn’t pay for it

The narration sounded forced and as if she had never read the script before. Her inflection was flat most of the time and when she did add emotion it was not reflective of the scenario. The story was ok, but very basic.

Sweet

Enjoyed this book on audible even though the narrator obviously had a hard time doing different voices .
