A personal look at a crime of passion describes an FBI agent's successful career, family life, and extramarital affair that ended in murder, and of the guilt that drove him to confess in spite of his impenetrable government shield.

In a true story of crime, guilt, and conscience, a model agent's illicit involvement with an informant leads him to commit a crime that reveals all the workings of the human heart--and the dark side of the FBI.

The story of senseless self-destruction and its reverberations. This one bummed me out, but it is a well told story.

Solid true crime

I could not stop listening to this book! I am an avid true crime junkie and this was exactly what I was looking for. Great narration, I wonder what happened to the movie that was coming out because I am definitely inspired to see it. Detailed, entertaining, engaging, better than expected. Loved it.

Enthralling

From the beginning of the story, something starts gnawing at you that things are headed in a bad direction for the two main characters. Thus, it makes for a novel that's hard to put down. The excellent movie made from the book must have been fairly easy to do, considering how the author paints such a clear picture of the characters and the environment. I highly recommend the book and the movie!

A great telling of a sad true story!

Great story, good author and great talent for the audio. Hard to stop listening and it really felt like I could see everything happening. It takes a lot for me to give anything 5 stars but I did.

Quickly became one of my favorite Audio books

Any additional comments?

Joe Sharkey's masterful writing shows how, in the words of S M Eisenstein, the most interesting question in the psychology of art is neither theme nor content, but how this theme or content becomes, from an "object" of reality_an object of art., how an 'event' becomes a 'work.'

Excellent Listen
