Publisher's Summary

The thirst for vengeance drives the Sunja gladiators to extreme measures in the fourth installment of this epic fantasy series.

The fighting season continues, and Goll prepares to participate once again in the games, as one man plots revenge upon the returning Kree. Growing weary of the insolent Prajus, golden-faced Gastillo seeks to strike a bargain with the wine merchant Nexus, which would rid him of his troublesome gladiator and provide him with the wealth needed to leave the Pit forever.

Seeking death, Pig Knot wanders the alleys and backstreets of Sunja and discovers that the city of his birth does not favor him in the least. Meanwhile, the captured Jackals embrace the Pit and discover the arena sands do favor them. And the Perician Weapon—now known as Wonder—faces perhaps his most telling match yet . . .

Perfect for fans of Gladiator and A Game of Thrones!

Loved this one

I really liked the back story of the agent’s spy girl. Quick and efficient. What was it? Half a chapter? I feel like I know her and her whole family. I am beginning to get the impression that Keith just writes and writes until enough pages are accumulated then wraps it up until the next one. I felt there should have been something more on the jackels of the pit. It seems their presence there is having the wrong effect on the minds of the people. Enough time was spent on them, maybe a word of regret from king jun?

Excellent Story continues.

Extremely well read and well written. I bit dark, but that is the type of story it is. I’m on to the next. I wish there was another omnibus as the length is near my bottom limit for a credit!

much better than last book

this book has a great story and does not get bogged down in endles ramblings of drunk characters, yes there is still a lot of gratuitous drinking and pointless meandering conversation that does not advance the story, but it seems to embellish a world that I the author has created and we get plenty of gladiator fights and back stories performed expertly by Mr. Lee.

Simply Excellent!

What a great series of books! I discovered these books after listening to the author's Mountain Man series - those book are great, but this gladiator series is just so much better! You can't help being drawn into the individual characters' story archs and their plans. The gory arena fight scenes and the build-ups to the fights are done so well. John Lee also does an admirable job with the narration - such good accents. Listened to all 5 books in less than two weeks. I really hope the author continues with this series!

Another solid entry in the series

The only disappointing thing about this book is that the next one isn't released yet.
Its very easy to binge-listen to this series.

Should have been combined with vol 3 or 5.

Has the stuff that is fun from the previous volumes but felt like a big filla after such a big ending in 3. Not Blackmoores best but decent fantasy bubblegum. If you liked the others stick with it.

Absolutely Awesome Book 4

All books the series are awesome, this is book four of the awesomeness, Keith C Blackmore the author who brought you the phreakingly awesome Mountain Man series turns his a total awesomeness 180 degree and produces the series 131 Days. This story from book 1 is full of Blood, Snot and Gore, yes, yes all three. It's Spartacus meets Gladiator meets John Carter. John Lee is awesome as the narrator, the characters and story he brings to life with mucho gusto, there's comedy, suspense, tension, despair and even a love story thrown in for good measure. Will they live will they die, who can tell in the arena of death yes you read it, I said death and lots of it, read the gruesome butchery that abounds as they say in the coliseum of death.
