Publisher's summary

You can find hope for any situation!

As a boy, Okongo Samson was captured by a band of terrorists, then beaten and brutalized mercilessly for weeks - only to escape through a series of miraculous circumstances that could only come from God’s intervention. Then, after beginning to courageously tell his story despite the fears and doubts that assaulted his faith, Okongo was thrown in jail time and again for the “crime” of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, at times bringing him to the point of death physically and spiritually. Could you find forgiveness in your heart for your persecutors? Would your faith in God remain unshakable?

Okongo’s heartfelt, incredible story will help you find hope in your pain and hardships - and know that you will never be forsaken as you trust in the Lord for your transformation.

So Honest

This is such an unbelievable story of horrendous suffering and persecution for a Christian brother. One thing that is so refreshing is the brutal honesty about trauma afterwards and how hard it is to forgive, etc. You don’t always get that in a persecution memoir and it humanizes the person real instead of leaving him looking superhuman. Well done.

Wow!

This book is filled with amazing stories of overcoming challenges, forgiveness, and keeping faith.
Okongo is an encouragement to anyone struggling with forgiveness or trauma. He has been able to forgive in spite of suffering far more than most people can imagine possible and kept his faith in the process. Not only that but his stories and faith have brought hope to thousands! He is one of my heroes and a true giant of the faith.
