Publisher's summary

In a desperate fight, we captured one of the machine empire’s factory planets. Can we now defeat an interstellar superpower that has exterminated thousands of sentient races across the galaxy and slaughtered billions of us in the solar system?

Not bloody likely, but Captain Jon Hawkins is on a mission. Using new warships from the factory planet, he’s searching for alien allies, more battle stations to storm, and death machines to kill. He’s buying us time to turn the solar system into a fortress...if he can stay alive long enough.

A.I. Battle Fleet is the fifth audiobook in the series chronicling humanity’s grim war for survival against the galactic machine juggernaut.

Quality is going down into the "void"

I like the series overall, but dammit, how many times can you use the "brain tap" device as the source of the problems that come up in the story? Common sense dictates to either destroy the device or disable the damn things. Lazy writing...

Another great addition!

The books are fun, the characters typical yet fun as well. It’s a good story written by a good sci fi author who’s books I always buy and am never disappointed!

Can’t wait for the next

Worst of The Series

This had a very muddy plot. The edition of extra and unneeded storylines was very irritating. The book totally lost focus for a while and the heavy play on religion and relationships was not needed. I hope the author heads back towards the main storyline.

Mediocre

Very little of this book has anything to do with space battle or any type if battle. Its mostly dealing with telepaths. Its more annoying than interesting.

Deja vu

This will be the last of the series I will pay for, I’m afraid I will go to the library to borrow the rest. Heppner is off in the weeds with this series now.

Too much time is spent on filler with these last two books that I’m bored waiting for the repeating plot of assassin/hidden alien attack to play out so the story can move forward.

With this book I’m now sure the scene from the last book where Walleye is arrested for saving the captain was removed from the last book and developed more in this book.

Im hoping the next book will be better, if not it will be good that I’ll be borrowing it from the library.

Finally the narrator Marc is doing a great job with the series. I give him 5 stars because I think he is really helping this series along where it is failing.

Heppner lost the thread

The story line had promise. But Heppner devolves into sophomore-level religiosity and “philosophy.”

Awful.

Enjoyable but could I do without the Religion

While humanity battles against all odds across the spiral arm, the author feels it imperative to bible thump, which is a pity, I still loved the story and heading into the next book right away
