A group of archaeologists hunting a bloodthirsty Maya monster gets more than they bargained for when they stumble upon an ancient city atop a Honduran mountain.

Rangers sent to investigate the disappearance of Professor Rita Martínez and her team of primatologists on a remote Honduran mountain discover the ruins of a lost Maya city—and inadvertently capture a photograph of a large, three-toed footprint.

Robert Garvin—believing the print belongs to Chac Xib Chaac, the creature that wiped out the Izamal expedition last year—launches a new archaeological campaign with the covert objective of tracking and capturing the bloodthirsty monster.

Ignoring the true purpose of the mission, Professor Mike Trenton joins molecular biologist Dr. Barbara Heller and herpetologist Paul Kruty as mission experts. However, what begins as a routine day at the excavation site soon descends into a harrowing fight for survival.
