1998 marks is the 35th anniversary of A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle. To celebrate, Bantam Doubleday Dell is publishing two wonderful new editions of L'Engle's Time Quartet, including A Wrinkle in Time; A Wind in The Door; A Swiftly Tilting Planet; and Many Waters.

In both the new digest and the mass market editions, each title includes a new introduction by the author. Covers of the digest editions are illustrated by Caldecott Honor illustrator Peter SÝs, and the mass market edition covers are illustrated by renowned science fiction and fantasy illustrator Cliff Nielsen.

Good Rewind to my youth.

I felt like a kid again reading this. It was one of my favorites as a child. I was surprised at how simplistic it seemed to me now. The Narrator did well.

Brilliant

I was recommended the book by a friend after I said how much I enjoyed Narnia.
A bit heavy handed with it's christian metaphors, and I could have done without the "perfect guy falling in love with the quirky protagonist with low self esteem" but that doesn't intrude much, if at all, with what's amazing about the story.
All the characters are amazing
The worlds are amazing
The truths and metaphors are amazing
The lessons are amazing.

Such an excellent book on many levels.

It is hard to define. Is it science, science fiction, fantasy... Yes all and more. I only wish that it were longer.

Real

I loved this book. it has a realness to it. It gives you a chance to escape and think of other things than your job and basic life. It allows you to think of actual life, things that really matter as in love, fear, hope, and how to look into your self and others and understand more than just what you can see, feel and hear. It gives you a chance to open up to the real world as you escape to an imaginary one. I recommend this book to everyone who has a desire to not only escape from their life for a while, but to those who want to open themselves to new knowledge and understanding.
If after listening or reading this book you dont feel the same way I do about it, I strongly suggest you listen/read it again till you have that understanding.
