After Wee and her family find themselves abandoned on their former ranch, they do their best to make a life, far from the reaches of mankind. When a tragic event almost takes her life, she finds herself,once again, forced to rely on humans for survival. The story is not the problem. It’s the AI voice.

I really didn’t like the AI voice reading this story. The intonation is wrong in so many ways! It’s very disturbing and disappointing. There are some things that just require a human voice—a real actor. It’s like listening to a third grader read aloud—stilted and robotic. Very painful! I find it so sad that we may be going in a way that AI takes over everything. How boring that would be! Please continue to hire talented actors to read the stories so we can continue to hear the warm, emotional nuances that make listening to an audio version of a book so enjoyable! I will not be purchasing another Audible book that is read by an AI voice. I trust that you will alert consumers ahead of time that they are purchasing an AI narrated book so they can decide for themselves before using their hard earned dollars!
