Pleasant story

The story line is simple, pleasant and sweet. However, the narrator does a horrible job with the different voices.

enjoyable read!

The story and the narration of this book were both very good - I liked the historical setting and the fresh air of Idaho that it exuded. The narrators rendition of the charcters was excellent and really made the book come alive for me - I recommend it highly!

just read the book.

What did you like best about A Vote of Confidence? What did you like least?

While the story and writing are fairly good, the narration is awful! I felt as though I was listening to a babysitter reading a story to a kid. (Not a very good babysitter and not a happy kid.) Skip the audible and stick to reading the book on your own. Simply not worth the credit or money spent.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

THE NARRATOR! UGH.

Would you be willing to try another one of Kathy Garver’s performances?

No.

Do you think A Vote of Confidence needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes. I love the characters and would love to read about them.

Any additional comments?

I would love to see the book re-done with a better narrator.

Loved it!

Such a lovely story in the days where there morals! What a pleasure. The narrator was good and brought story alive, but did struggle with accents and voices, but overall, fantastic.

Nice story, not a huge fan of the narrator

While Robin Lee Hatcher is not one of my favorite authors, she is one that I return to once I've finished the newest releases from my favorites, and she is starting to grow on me. I like to see the faith of her characters and the way that they live it out in their day-to-day lives. In "A Vote of Confidence," I liked Gwen a lot. She was strong, independent and intelligent, but a little insecure, and I found that I could really identify with her. Morgan was a little too good to be true, but I still enjoyed getting to know him and seeing the relationship between the two blossom. My only real issue was with the narrator.

This was my first experience with Kathy Garver, and while I plan to finish out the series to see what happens, I think I will probably try to avoid books that she narrates in the future. She adds in random accents where they don't belong and doesn't do well with male voices, putting them in an unnatural register of her own voice that makes them sound a little creepy. It wasn't bad enough to make me stop listening, but I did find it a bit distracting.

Overall, "A Vote of Confidence" was a pleasant read, and I look forward to continuing the series, even if I do wish they'd chosen a different narrator.

Eerie voices....

The story is great but I gave the performance a low rating because of the eerie voices which are supposed to be the "male characters." Because I value the money I spend on audio books, I listened until the end, but was very anxious for the ending. Had the voices been a little more realistic it would have been rated five stars!.
