Publisher's summary

It all began when Fitzwilliam Darcy and his cousin Colonel Richard Fitzwilliam stopped at the posting station in Bromley on their way to Rosings Park for their annual visit. Looking for some diversion, the good colonel happened upon a local Romani woman who was selling her people’s treasured moon wine. Find out what happens to some of our favorite Jane Austen characters when her advice is ignored in a very merry mix-up.

Enjoyable

A very enjoyable short story with multiple body swaps between a few main characters during Lizzy’s stay at Hunsford. It created a lot of funny situations, unpredictable and predictable reactions from persons involved. Darcy and Lizzy had a chance to work together and know each other better. Both the story and the narration blended very well and gave me a pleasurable afternoon.
Highly recommended

Not my type of story

Not so sure why I bought it. It was not as fun as I thought. I do like the narrator and that might be why. Not a reread for me.

Delightful Novella

This is a delightful novella featuring a body-swap trope. I loved the writing by Jennifer Redlarczyk and the performance by Catherine Bilson very well done. I received a promotional code for this book from the author with no promise of a review. I do recommend this very pleasing listen.

Short sweet and romantic

This is the short-short version of the events between Huntsford and the HEA with none of the angst or the ugly proposal. You already know about body switching but you don’t know what happens afterwards unless you’ve read the book. So enjoyable I know I will use this again and again as a little mind cleanser after crying through an angst filled saga. If you’re like me even having read a book multiple times I still find it enjoyable to sit back (or do chores) and have someone else tell me the story. Recommended!!

Enjoyable story and narrator

I have listened to this story 3 times already. A short story that takes 1 hour to listen to. Easy to listen while doing daily chores. The story begins with Darcy and Elizabeth awaking in a bed together but, they are in the bodies of Mr. and Mrs. Collins. All everyone can remember on All Fools’ Day is drinking wine together wishing for the character of others. The moon, wine and a little magic tells an enjoyable story. Colonel Fitzwilliam must find out about the wine that everyone drank. Will they stay in other bodies or return to their own. and how long will it last? Will they remember their experiences? Lovely HEA for Darcy and Elizabeth.

Whimsical Magical Bodyswap Romance

A bit of magic and a body swap provides an unforgettable interlude for a handful of the characters from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. I was tickled to score a copy of the novella in audio format and settled into my comfy chair for a relaxing listen.

After imbibing some Gypsy wine, Darcy, Elizabeth, and the Collinses all wake up to a shocking morning after in Hunsford Vicarage. Not knowing what else to do when they discover themselves in each other's bodies, Darcy and Elizabeth pretend to go about the normal business of Mr. and Mrs. Collins while Charlotte keeps her husband and herself out of sight. In the process, Darcy gets a shocking revelation about himself and his views of others and is able to give Elizabeth a different view of him. When the magic wears off, will their new understanding remain?

Definitely a deviation from the original, but I had a good time with this light, enchanting story. It moved along swiftly and was rather low-angst, but I guess it was right book-right mood because I didn't mind.

Catherine Bilson was a first time narrator for me. I took a little bit to adjust to her narration work. Her male voices were a little husky, but once I settled in, I liked her work and will definitely listen to more.

All in all, a sweet delight that I can recommend to other Austenesque fans who want a gentle, light, heartwarming magical romance.
