Story
On the planet Tython, the ancient Je’daii order was founded. And at the feet of its wise Masters, Lanoree Brock learned the mysteries and methods of the Force - and found her calling as one of its most powerful disciples. But as strongly as the Force flowed within Lanoree and her parents, it remained absent in her brother, who grew to despise and shun the Je’daii, and whose training in its ancient ways ended in tragedy. Now, from her solitary life as a Ranger keeping order across the galaxy, Lanoree has been summoned by the Je’daii Council on a matter of utmost urgency.

Breakfast of Champions (1973) provides frantic, scattershot satire and a collage of Vonnegut's obsessions. His recurring cast of characters and American landscape was perhaps the most controversial of his canon; it was felt by many at the time to be a disappointing successor to Slaughterhouse-Five, which had made Vonnegut's literary reputation.

Story
In Made in America, Bryson de-mythologizes his native land, explaining how a dusty hamlet with neither woods nor holly became Hollywood, how the Wild West wasn't won, why Americans say 'lootenant' and 'Toosday', how Americans were eating junk food long before the word itself was cooked up, as well as exposing the true origins of the G-string, the original $64,000 question, and Dr Kellogg of cornflakes fame.

Story
“The Heron” is the nickname a big-city accountant has attached to himself in his new home near San Diego, where he’s using the alias to avoid a hit man who may be after him. It seems a former client believes that The Heron has skipped town with several million dollars not his own. Don Winslow’s ensuing, entertaining yarn is by turns twisty, dark, and comical as we observe the delicate dance between the pursuer and the pursued.

Amazingly Funny and Filled with Holiday Cheer!
What made the experience of listening to A Very Improvised Holiday Musical (Extended Edition) the most enjoyable?
This recording was simply amazing! The cast is full of talented performers who can crack a joke, weave a tale, and sing with gusto. I'm most blown away by the fact that everything they do is made up on the spot with only the help of a few suggestions by the audience! Like.... WHAT?! Crazy amazing.
What other book might you compare A Very Improvised Holiday Musical (Extended Edition) to and why?
Well, this is not a book. Nor was it written, so I feel unable to compare it to anything. It is simply awesome. Think of the best improv you've seen combined with holiday cheer and amazing music, then you are coming close to what this is.
Which scene was your favorite?
This is tough. I really loved the whole musical. The Zoop song that opens and closes the show does get stuck in my head in the best way possible, though.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Join Vern this Holiday Season! Nothing screams the holidays like spontaneous music and cheer!
Any additional comments?
This was amazing. I hear they perform in New York City all the time. I can't wait to check them out and see it live for myself.
Also, Laura Benanti is incredible, but like, DUH.

Goofy, merry, and fun!
What made the experience of listening to A Very Improvised Holiday Musical (Extended Edition) the most enjoyable?
Love Vern - these folks can make up an entire musical on the spot. It's magical to hear it happen, just expect it to go to some pretty weird places. Plus, Laura Benanti's voice is INDEED angelic.

Forget the Yule log! VERN IS ON FIRE!
I cackled out loud while listening to this at work. I’ve seen this group live. It’s amazing that they’re expanding to Audible. I want more, and I want it now.

Hilarious!
This was fantastic! Vern's extremely witty and original show had me cackling with joy on the train, which I'm sure made me look odd to the other passengers, but I didn't mind because I was too busy enjoying the silly characters and wonderful musical numbers. Looking forward to Vern's next special!

Vern makes the holidays better.
If you could sum up A Very Improvised Holiday Musical (Extended Edition) in three words, what would they be?
Relatable. Hilarious. Brilliant.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved how it sounded like everyone has known each other for years. The chemistry of the group is out of this world.
Which scene was your favorite?
Too hard to choose. That'd be like picking your favorite kid. Wait, everyone has a favorite kid. More like picking your favorite ice cream flavor.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
If by moved, you mean laugh, then yes. All of them.
Any additional comments?
Give Daniel Tepper more air time.

FUNNY, CLEVER, AND ORIGINAL
Really great stuff from Vern. I thought this was really funny and creative. Definitely adds to the holiday season which seems to just fly by. I'd like to hear more of these. I'd be interested in hearing Vern do a little something for each holiday. Yesterday was Valentine's Day which I think would've been perfect for Vern to perform about. I'm normally not someone who is into musical improv but this was top shelf quality. There was a perfect balance of talented singers, quick wits, and general fun vibes. I guess I'll search for VERN every few months and see if Audible releases any more of these. This was the first non-book I ever downloaded on Audible and was a nice surprise.
