Publisher's summary

What's the actual last thing you'd ever want your executive assistant to see you doing the morning after you had hot, drunk, angry sex with her in a terrible hotel room? Dancing around your terrible hotel room to "Come and Get Your Love" like Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy - naked? Yeah. Me too.

And yet, here we are.

This isn't even the most unprofessional thing that's happened between us in the past couple of weeks.

The first was when I agreed to let her have Christmas Day off, but only if she goes with me to three family gatherings as my fake girlfriend.

The second was when she caught me belting out a Christmas song on stage in the awful hotel bar.

The third was the hot, drunk, angry sex that followed, but I do not regret it.

And she hasn't even found out the real reason I need her by my side this holiday season.

I need to pull it together before I do the dumbest, most unprofessional thing of all - fall head over heels in love with the only assistant who's lasted more than a month at the job and claims to hate me and my moods more than she hates eggnog.

And I've seen how much she hates eggnog.

This audiobook is dual narration, with portions that are duet-style.

WHAT A LITTLE GEM

Oh what a gem of a story this was.. a fun and cute office romance/fake girlfriend banter-filled love story. And the character connection, the easy flow of the story, the laughs, the sizzles, the charm, the amusing secondary characters and the tender sentiments were all perfectly brought to life by Mackenzie and Connor (Connor you did swoon-worthy accents). Kayley, thank you, you’ve written a very entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable fun and flirty story that warmed my heart. WORTH A CREDIT? Yes absolutely worth it.

Excellent Holiday Romance!

A Very Bossy Christmas is a very funny, office, fake relationship romance!

I loved Declan and Maddie! Their chemistry was on point and their banter was so fun to read. The two of them (and their families) had me laughing and I didn't want this book to end. Declan was so gruff but melted perfectly for Maddie and when his Irish came out *swoon*! Maddie is a spit fire of an assistant and I love that she keeps him on his toes. Excellent holiday romance that I recommend everyone read (or listen to - I did and the narrators were superb)!

omg

I don't think I can put into words how much I love Kayley Loring's books. They are simply lovely and make me feel as though I'm wrapped in a warm blanket. Her writing naturally flows, is sharp and witty and just makes me feel happy. Ms Loring also knows how to write a hero. Each one is just perfect without being perfect, if that makes sense. Declan is no exception and might actually be my favourite of all her leading men. His dirty mouth, dirty thoughts and big beautiful heart just filled me with joy with every word. Her leading ladies are brilliant too, complimenting the male character yet taking as much of the limelight themselves. Mel has become my girl crush - strong, feisty and not afraid to go for what she wants, with a little persuasion from the fabulous Piper. A Very Bossy Christmas is another to add to my 'oh this is my favourite Kayley Loring book' list because I don't think she's written anything I haven't loved that I've so far read. There's no major angst, no mind blowing cliff hangers or any gimmicks, Ms Loring just relies on her talent to drag you into her world and make you smile.

Excellent performances

This book was hilarious, and the audiobook is even better. I loved it! The narrators did a terrific job with the love/hate nuances. And Piper! I have decided that relistening to this will be a Christmas tradition for me.

I loved this one!

I don’t know why it took me so long to buy this book but I’m glad I finally did. The story is well written and sweet and the characters were amazing. Both narrators do a wonderful job but I have to say Conner Crais’ Irish accent was my favorite part.

Takes too long to move the story along.

I gave up on this book by chapter 16 and the main characters were STILL playing games. Maddie and Declan (i think that's the guy's name. that was how boring it was. lol) work together as admin. assist. (maddie) and lawyer boss (Declan?) There was very little face to face interaction between them for 16 CHAPTERS. They did plenty of talking to friends and family AROUND them, a lot of self involved internal monologue about their feelings for the other which ranged from "I HATE YOU" to "I WANT YOU", and one long, drawn out immature purple chapter written by a teenage girl called Piper who is Maddie's niece that shows an unhealthy obsession with a grown man, her aunt, and their sex life. I bought the book because I liked the summary. I could imagine Declan doing the star-lord dance and found that amusing. Unfortunately, 16 chapters in, there was no sign of any action leading up to this beyond a kiss that got him slapped in an elevator. His response was to go to the hotel bar, get drunk, make an a** of himself using the house band and a microphone for a karaoke session to sing about his frustrations with Maddie and his family. As if that was not bad enough....the male narrator was ACTUALLY SINGING IT!. At this point I gave up on it and it's yet another book from a writer I'd never tried before going into my DNF category.

NY chawm, Staten Island smawm- mouthy fun

As someone who is waaay out of touch with texting and acronyms beyond LOL or IMHO, I could have had a hard time enjoying this book. But, the author managed to write a fun story despite my disdain for emojis and teenage texting drama. Declan is truly a jerk of a boss, but Maggie can give as good as she gets. This is mouthy and silly and full of accents. Oh, the accents! And the Catholic, Irish, Italian family! And yes, I even liked teenage niece Piper.

Oddly enough, my least favorite part was the nooky, which just didn’t sizzle for me. I much preferred all the hate flirting leading up to it. Still, a great sale purchase with a holiday backdrop.

Funniest book I’ve ever heard.

These two narrators OUTDID themselves. I literally kept pausing and (while holding my pee) had to play back at least 5 different scenes to my husband because they were SO dang funny. This is only the first book I’ve read from this author but now I fear my bank account is going to feel the weight of this new obsession. Loved this book 😩🫶🏻

The only festive audiobook you NEED!

Another corker from the hilariously funny Kayley. I’m not normally into holiday books but I’d heard great things about this one and I was not disappointed. The narration by Connor and Mackenzie as always was stellar. They really know how to get the most out of a book. From side splitting laughter to get you in the heart feelings, this audiobook has it all. AND I am here for all the amazing accent work. Connor sings in Irish and Mackenzie’s voice for the Staten Island aunt is spot on.

This is a fake relationship, office romance with both of them catching secret feelings early. I will tell you literally nothing about the plot, because you just need to listen to this one.

This book is full of festive double entendres and I was here for every one of them.

Grab this side splitting holiday audiobook NOW!

Sweet romance

Kayley Lori's is a recent but very welcome discovery. Her stories are sweet, low angst explosions of love.
I loved this gentle hug of a Christmas themed romance.

5 STARS FOR SURE ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

5 STARS FOR SURE ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A Very Bossy Christmas was everything I was expecting and more!

Declan a typical workaholic that likes to boss and be in control and his assistant Maddie Cooper is the only one who handle Declan. Maddie is a beautiful, strong and independent woman who gave as good as she received. The chemistry these two is electric and the banter hilarious!!
Having to keep his mother happy, he needs a fake relationship and so what’s the best thing to do? Yep that’s right! and so not to ruin their working relationship they decide to draw up a signed contract where they pretend to be in a relationship.
Theirs's obvious attraction between them and when that spark is lit things become extremely HOT!!! If you haven’t already read or listened to this hilariously hot holiday romance, trust me you don’t want to miss out on this fabulous book by Kayley Loring that brings together two different families an Irish-Italian with a Staten Island and just from knowing that family plays a part in this story it all ready sets the scene for a good feel story which is what Christmas is all about.

Maybe the narrators don´t mix?

Fun book, but I am not really a fan of the narrators. The female is upbeat, while the male is down to earth kinda? Ok, I don´t like the female reading this story. Somehow. Oh, she is really irritating.

liked it a lot

I got my hopes up at first, as it seemed both narrators would do all their main character's dialogue. Unfortunately, it didn't last long. This is my only gripe with this audiobook. Connor has a simply divine voice but I'm not a fan of his version of the FMC's voice. Other than that, this is a steamy yet humorous book which I enjoyed immensely.

Romantic Comedy at its Best

Kayley Loring does it again. The humor and banter between the two main characters makes this book worth the listen all on it's own. Add in the story, side characters and sexy times and you have a five-star listen. I hope to get more books including stories for Declan's siblings.
I listened to the audo version of this book. Mackenzie Cartwright and Connor Crais were fantastic. Connor does an Irish access in part of the story and it is everything. Mackenzie is so great and I hope to continue to hear more from her.

5 stars are not enough for this book.

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending A Very Bossy Christmas to anyone who enjoys romantic comedies.
It's a refreshingly different twist on the fake relationship trope in that the big reveal isn't the fake relationship.
The male narrator Connor Crais' gruff sexy voice is perfect and really brings Declan to life.
The Female narrator, Mackenzie Cartwright, is brilliant as Maddie and she especially shines as Maddie's teenage niece Piper who is adorable.
Keep a look out for the punny chapter names!
I know this will be an audiobook I listen to over and over again at any time of the year.
