Publisher's summary

Eva is a travel photographer with an impossible task, to shoot abandoned places. It sounded easy, but every place has been done to death and she was quickly running out of options. But, a memory surfaced from her childhood. Her grandmother often told her tales of the village she grew up in, deep in the Romanian wilds. Above the small hamlet was a castle. Whatever had dwelled inside of those walls scared her, and no matter how much Eva prodded, her grandma would never tell. With her goal in sight, Eva sets out on a journey. Beneath the shadow of Castle Pasca, she dreams of two dark men, two vampires who would stop at nothing to have her. Their lust invades her every waking thought. Those two men want to use her until nothing remains. If she goes to them, will she ever leave the castle alive? In the dark shadow of Castle Pasca, a tale of lust and sensuality abated for century unfolds.

Nice story

This is a very nice story, especially I you are into BDSM edging towards a disregard to the submissive. This is full on erotica in just the way I would imagine BDSM to be. The only lag in this whole book is the narrator's voice. It is pretty bland with no change in emotions. Ignore that and you will have an awesome sex erotica.

Eva’s journey to becoming a used “toy"

This story is right up your alley if you like erotica with BDSM based on a bit of degradation and a significant amount of giving pain before pleasure with no regard for your partner. But you need to look elsewhere if you want any level of romance with your BDSM or erotica because there is none to be found her. The author writes sensuality very well, but sensuality with such harshness used in search of one’s pleasure with little-to-no-regard for your partner is not for me.

Eva, a magazine photographer, journeys to Pasca, her family’s ancient home, in search of a story. Once there she immediately starts to have sex with Lucien and Gregor, 2 vampires, and their partner, Ivanka. With the males, sex is initiated first in a dream and without any introduction. Apparently Eva doesn’t need one, and I guess the vampires knew who she was through their vampire senses and their history with past members of her family. Eva also doesn’t seem to be taken aback by engaging with vampires or even their existence, though no blood-sucking goes on in the book.

Eva first has sex with Gregor. It consisted of painfully thru pinching her nipples, hand spanking, pulling her hair, pressure around her neck, laughing at her pain and dis-ease.and calling Eva a whore as part of traditional intercourse. Through it the pain results in tears, and she expresses feeling “terror” and “fear,” yet she felt like she had a “choice.” Eva succumbed to the use of pain in sex with surprise and then acceptance too easily and quickly, even though she called Gregor a sadist. Eva said Gregor did things to her with no concern about whether he brought pleasure to her or not, but she, of course, thought it was pleasurable. She said, “I wanted this man to break me from my willfulness and put me back together however he saw fit.” She also said, ““It was Gregor’s job to make me face what I was unwilling to, to DEGRADE me for the sex I desired. It was my job to do as ordered and stay silent.” After the sex she said she laid there “bruised and wrecked” but extremely sexually satisfied.

After Gregor, Ivanka introduces herself as a maid, initially, and they have a brief sexual encounter—wherein Eva is not submissive—before Ivanka gives Eva a collar and takes Eva to Lucien. For Eva, sex with Lucien includes Ivanka too. With Lucien, Eva was instructed to have sex with Ivanka, to perform an act on Ivanka’s rear end that caused her pause but to which she soon acquiesced and enjoyed, told to crawl, engaged in anal sex, and throat-destroying fellatio.

Did Eva jump into extreme, new types of sex (for her) with Gregor, Lucien, and Ivanka so quickly, without ever really meeting them or being introduced because she was under some kind of vampiric spell or what? Otherwise, it doesn’t make sense and lacks no credibility. I require a bit more plausibility in my stories, even ones that are paranormal and stretch the limits of standard day-to-day human existence for most folks. So the pieces need to connect.

Eva said her fate was left up to Gregor and Lucien, 2 vampires she just “met” and doesn’t know AT ALL!

Generally, I liked the narrator’s performance ok. But, Eva went to her family’s village of Pasca to Castle Pasca with a guide named Nikolai (who just seems to disappear; we never know what happens to him once the sex starts). The book doesn’t say where this village is, but with its name, the guide’s name, and the story’s description referring to the “Romanian wilds,” I expected the villagers and Nikolai to have some accent, but the narrator used none. That was disappointing and seemed very inauthentic. And her guide seemed to be completely unaware of the customs in Pasca, which also seemed inexplicable.

There were several things that just happened and things Eva just knew. Even for a paranormal tale, there were too many occurrences and aspects with no explanation, thereby creating cracks in the story’s believability which detracted from the tale. So, about 30 minutes into the story, it, and as a result, my interest, begin to drift and disappointment started to become my prominent emotion while listening to this story. And it was hard to move away from it. The good part of the story lasted less than 30 minutes. The narrator did an admirable job trying to maintain the likeability of this tale—lack of accent not withstanding—but to no avail.
