Publisher's summary

Megan White should’ve died 25 years ago.

Now she appears to have it all—a solid career, a trendy apartment—but she feels like a fraud. A firefighter, Megan has an edge she doesn’t deserve. She doesn’t burn. Torn between her duty and her dreams, Megan is about to escape to the life she always wanted when a handsome soldier marches into her life.

After his dad barely escapes a house fire, Troy Chapman is forced to return home from the army. He finds the life he left behind buried in ashes with a beautiful red-haired firefighter at the center of it all. Troy has six weeks to set everything straight before he returns to base, but time at home isn’t easy. Haunted by painful childhood memories, he is now fighting to reclaim the little peace he had before Iraq. A dedicated soldier, Troy is committed to returning to the army, but something about Megan makes him want to put down roots in the very place he’s been trying to escape for years.

Megan and Troy burn for each other, but time is ticking until they must go back to their separate lives. With a new danger on the horizon, Megan and Troy must decide what they really want before they lose their chance at love—and possibly their lives.

A steamy contemporary romance, A Touch of Fire is the second book in the Sisters in Sirens series. If you like strong women with secret superpowers and the men who love them, you’ll love Kathryn K. Murphy’s newest romance. Get your copy today!

Cute story

I was able to receive a copy of this title for an honest review. I thought it was a cute story and found some very likable characters. I attempted to listen to the first one several months back but couldn’t get into it, this one was a bit better. 4 stars ⭐️

A Touch of Fire

Well this was such a cute book. I enjoyed every bit of it. Girl meets boy, they find love, but they do have some bumps along the way. But they come out strong at the end. Just love this story. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

Steamy page turner

A touch of fire is a good small town romance with some angst. Megan has survivor guilt after her family died in a fire. The book touches on her secret power of what she can’t get burned. She pushes the edge of safety while being s firefighter. The team is her family. Her real dream is to become a veterinarian. Troy comes home to the small town ranch to take care of his father after his house burned. Megan us liking after Troy’s father after she saved him from the fire. Sparks fly between Megan and Troy, but they have reservations about a relationship because of both of their guilt and sense if responsibility. This book is a steamy, angsty page turner with a happily ever after. I enjoyed listening to it.

Multi layered romance.

I loved this story! I did not read/listen to book one, but I would like to. Tray is working through a lot in his life. He’s in the military and is pretty scarred as well as having some childhood trauma and losses. Troy’s Dad, who is a salt of the Earth gentleman, suffers a great loss and Troy steps up to help him in his time of need.

Megan is very special. She has abilities that have her wondering what path to pursue in life. She’s a caretaker and works as a fireman. After rescuing Troy’s Dad she steps in to help in a big way.

The attraction between these two is amazing, but they have a bumpy road.

This is a great romance that’s not quite run of the mill. Excellent characterizations and a very solid plot line make this book a 5 star listen. The narrator did an excellent job.

Sweet Romance

This is the second book in The Sisters in Sirens Series, a Small Town Romance. Megan and Troy's story is sweet, and intriguing, filled with mystery and twists and turns. Megan, a firefighter with secret superpowers, is smart, and caring. Troy is enigmatic, and protective. The storyline is interesting, and original. The supporting characters are great. Frances Anderson did a good job with the narration. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.

Steamy Small Town Story!!

4.5 stars.
I love the world the author creates because it's contemporaneous, but still with the hint of magic with Megan's ability to not get burned. I liked Laura's story and I'm glad Megan had a chance for her own happy ending!
Megan's character is perfectly tragic, with a some survivor's guilt, and some reckless behavior. She takes in animals without a place to go, but feels compelled to use her gift as a firefighter whenever she thinks about going to veterinary school.
Troy is the perfect foil for her. He has his own demons and scars to worry about. I enjoyed his story. He had depth, but he tried his best to hid it because he was scared!
The story of the two of them coming together was great and I enjoyed it immensely. There were ups and downs and some slight meddling with Troy's father. Plus fun cameos of Laura, Carter, and Holden! It was a perfect story for both Megan and Troy because it wasn't easy and there were obstacles to overcome for both of them.
I liked that the story was mental awareness positive and openly talked about therapy.
Now, I hope Ash gets her own story!
The story is the second in the series and can be read as a standalone. Though, I'd recommend reading the first story before this one for maximum enjoyment!
I read this book initially, and I think I like the audiobook more. It really brought the story together.

I liked the narrator! I thought she did a great job with the voices and getting into the characters, both with the male and female ones.

Fire resistant

Loved it! This is the second in the series but reads great as a standalone. I missed the first book, but am going back to read it now. Megan is a sweet and caring. She is a firefighter and has an amazing talent. Troy is in the military, and is home on leave to help his father. The ranch house burned down, and dad is struggling. I appreciated the peak into the military and issues with getting help for mental health. Interesting storyline, well developed characters. Great job with narration.
