Kittyhawk Gruff never wanted to compete with her sisters. It's not her fault she's good at everything from alien artifacts to hyperspace mechanics. She'd far rather be ordinary than deal with her family's resentment. But when a trans-dimensional entity lures her sisters into an archaeological death trap, Kittyhawk knows she will have to stop pretending and live up to her own potential.
This is a delightful short story, but it's not a full-length novel. The characters are fun and the concepts are challenging, and more lengthy adventures with the Gruff sisters will be forthcoming. In fact, the better this book sells, the more quickly additional stories will come.

Would you listen to A Starscape Slightly Askew again? Why?
It's a fun story to hear and I'm sure that there are elements I will probably need to remember for the next book in the series. In addition, I love this narrator's voice and style.Who was your favorite character and why?
I think Kittyhawk is my favorite character. You can hear the struggle she is having trying not to be so extraordinary, so that her sisters will stop being as competitive with her as they are. She's got a sort of effortless genius to her.Have you listened to any of Popi Ardissone’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first book I've heard Ms. Ardissone narrate and I will be on the lookout for whatever else she does. I'm assuming she is new to audiobook narration, because this and the other story by N. Ellen Fulda are the only two I can find under her name.Ardissone really makes the characters come to life and she also finds unexpected levels of emotion and character that might be missed in just reading the book. She is clearly an experienced actress and Ms. Fulda was smart to catch her at this early stage of her narration career.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
In space, no one can hear you scream... at your sisters.Excellent Narration Makes A Good Story Better
