A “Speak easy” Poetry Book

A “Speak easy” Poetry Book by Reneé Drummond-Brown has manifested itself from a retro style bar in the rrroaring 1920’s that once mimicked elements of an illicit vintage nightclub during Prohibition which came full fruition into spoken-word, speaking dat truth, speaking profoundly, speaking prophetically, and speaking that poetic thAng into existence consequently ushering in the 21st century poetic prose at slam venues.

Spoken word replicating facets of antique speakeasies ain’t easy, nor neva-eva been spoken and/or sounded so good in a modern-day “Speak easy,” spitting dat truth, da whole truth, and nothin but da poetic truth. Drummond-Brown’s poems are equivalent to a fine wine that goes down smooth and so easy. hear! hear!

Difficult for me to understand

It was difficult for me to understand the dialect that the book is written in and many of the phrases that may have been modern at some time were very foreign to me. To be honest i did not finish the book because I couldn't get anything out of it but that's not saying that someone else couldn't. So I gave it a medium review just because of those reasons listed above. You might like the book i just didn't understand it.
