GRIPPING — WONDERFUL FOLLOW-UP TO “THE BUTTERFLY AND THE VIOLIN…”

I enjoyed this story every bit as much as I enjoyed, “The Butterfly and the Violin.” After reading the first book, I found myself wanting to know what happened to Will and Sera, Sophie (the next “generation” after Adele and Vladimir).

Again, as with the first book, I learned about an aspect of the German Holocaust camps I didn’t know about before — the art work done by the children in camps. Fascinating!

I very much enjoyed the relationship that slowly developed between Kaja and Liam. I felt the storyline needed more detail about these two characters and how they got to be a couple (it seemed rather sudden), but I suppose that in the middle of the London Blitz, time was a luxury many people didn’t have.

Unlike another reviewer, I APPRECIATED and loved the “God aspect” of the book. I can’t begin to fathom how awful those concentration camps were; I would imagine that for some, their belief in God was the ONLY way to sustain hope and to take another step. If faith in God and the promises in His Book aren’t your thing, you WON’T enjoy the book as I did.

I so hope there will be another book that follows the characters (a new baby was about to be born).

I highly recommend this book — Ms. Cambron and the narrator, Ms. McDowell, both did a terrific job. Together, they are a fantastic team!

Another great one

Couldn’t put it down! I really enjoy this author’s writing. I look forward to the next book in this series.

One of my favorites!

I loved the love story, and the travel. I wish more than written about the grandfather and Sophia or Sophie.

Enthralling

A great surprise to find this was a follow up to The Butterfly and Violin. I am trying to see if there are more to follow the story, it was enthralling and leaves me wanting more. A great book I highly recommend, but ensure to real The Butterfly and Violin first.

Emotional

I loved the continuation from her other story. Such sadness at a time when cruelty had no limit . Some parts I admit was a little “ yah sure” but over all lovely ending.

Very god squad

The story was interesting and I realized I had listened to the first book. In triaging enough to hear the end but there should be a memo that there is a lot of god talk. Fine for people who are religious but I chose it for the story line forgetting that this author likes to pull in god to the story.
