When Eleanor Blythe is cast out of society after a cruel betrayal, she is forced into marriage with the reclusive Duke of Raventhorne—a man feared for his temper and marked by the scars he keeps hidden. Behind the locked doors of Ashcombe Hall though, Eleanor uncovers something far more dangerous than his reputation…

Nathaniel Ashcombe, Duke of Raventhorne, lives haunted by a fire that took his family and left him scarred on every level. He never meant to marry, but duty binds him to Eleanor—a woman stronger and more stubborn than he could ever expect. As she breaks through his walls, he finds himself longing for something he thought he would never find…

As whispers from Eleanor’s past stir trouble and Nathaniel’s own demons threaten to consume him, they must decide… Can two wounded hearts, both scarred by betrayal, find the courage to trust and heal before it is too late?

An interesting plot with good characters. Life is hard and sometimes you need someone to help you deal with life’s challenges. The only negative is the virtual narrator.

I just really enjoyed the push and pull of an arranged marriage due to circumstances that otherwise these characters would not have ended up together. The story is full of love, but then the author adds that pinch of Villain to stir the pot. Forgiveness and the dreadful fear was dealt with too.

Delightful with a pinch of Villain
