Publisher's summary

Annie Acorn Audio is pleased to present A Rose by Any Other Name, written by Angel Nichols and narrated by Lisa Leslie.

“Lady, you can't do that in here!” Alberto Perez shouts into his cab's rearview mirror, but there really isn't much he can do. Two hours later, a baby girl enters the world, and so, the story begins.

Eighteen years later, Rose Smith finds herself on the doorstep of a New York City women's shelter, alone and afraid, but then a handsome stranger with kind eyes befriends her. An old photo, an inherited quest, and a heart-shaped pendant further unite the two young people, as they search for answers together.

From author Angel Nichols, known for her The Ghost of Christmas Present and Other Stories, weaves a tangled web and proves once again that love can indeed conquer all.

Beautiful short story...

This is a lovely short story by Angel Nichols.
And into the world comes a baby girl.... born on the floor of a laundromat....

Years later, Rose is set out into the world after outgrowing her orphanage, not knowing what to do or who to count on... being told to only trust in God. The Lord works in mysterious ways... She's directed to a shelter with the vague hope of finding shelter and work, and meets a young man who may change her life forever.

Short and Sweet

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

It takes so little for fate to dictate the outcome of one's life, and this story shows us just how easy it is to find yourself on the wrong path. This is especially true if you are an abandoned child who grew up in an orphanage and is thrown into an hostile world greedily awaiting its next victim. The miracle again is love, in the form of a handsome stranger willing to help the beautiful "Rose" who stumbles at his feet. The reunion between mother and daughter is not as touching as it could have been, but that might be my own impression. I feel that if the mother wanted to truly reach out to her lost daughter, she could have done so on her own. The love story however is sweet and rewarding. Well-written and narrated, this is a great listening experience to enjoy between more complex books.
