Publisher's summary

Elizabeth is at a crossroads. Will rumschpringe lead her away? Or bring her home? She's been given the chance to experience life outside of her community, away from the responsibility to care for her eight younger siblings, but Elizabeth Bontrager can't decide which road to take. Goshen has its charms and pressures, but Paradise, Pennsylvania, sounds...well, like paradise. And it's also home to her Englisch friend, Paula. Decision made. Elizabeth is Paradise bound. But will the small town live up to its name?

When Elizabeth meets Paula's friend, Bruce, she quickly learns he wants more than a friendship. And the same might be true of Saul Miller, her new boss at the country store that sells Amish products to the Englisch community. As the two compete for her attention, Elizabeth is surprised to realize she misses her family and becomes even more uncertain about where she belongs. She has a choice to make: return home or embrace this new life and possibly a new love?

Good story line

The story line is good and well written. I did find the narrator very breathy though and thought it could do without that type of narrating.

Feels unfinished.

The story just ended abruptly. I don’t much care for endings that do not tie up story lines of the primary characters.
The book was good, but felt unfinished and appears to be a stand alone story with no follow up story. This does not make me want to buy the next book in the series. Mainly because it appears to be about a completely different set of characters and preview does not mention a connection to the first story.
I gave three stars for the story for reasons mentioned above. Story feels incomplete, unfinished.

Good story

The story itself was good and intriguing, however, the narrator’s voice was good for the story, but when impersonating the female characters, she sounded like a guy, which made it a little hard to follow.

Awesome story

This book was so good, I had a hard time turning it off!
If were a regular book I'd call it a pg turner.

Finally one worth purchasing

I have had a string of bad luck with 1 star quality books. can't even finish the series it's so bad. This one did it for me. It was relatable and more realistic. The only thing was the ending. It was really abrupt and unsatisfying. I would've been happy with another hour just to wrap things up properly! Good job with this book. You beat out other "big names" but "poor quality". I highly recommend this book. The "romance" wasn't too heavy, thank goodness! I'm not a romance person. But this was nicely comfortable!

Great story

Once again Barbara Cameron writes a heartwarming story. "A Road Unknown " is another in a wonderful series which reflects real-life events about an Amish family , community, and the challenges encountered. I feel like I am part of the family and community. I think it's wonderful how GODLY principles are intertwined throughout the story without shoving "Religion " down anyone's throat. Coleen Marlo does an excellent voice portrayal of all the many characters. I highly recommend this story!!

Good read

It was a simple yet thoughtful story. Narration is clear and does well adding in accents and Dutch words.
