A guided journey through the 12-step process. A Principle of Recovery is a look at sobriety through the eyes and heart of Jack Grisham - lead singer of the punk band T.S.O.L. and the author of An American Demon. Grisham has been clean and sober since January 8, 1989. This book cuts through the myths and misconceptions of what it is to live in recovery and gives us a glimpse into the freedom that being sober can bring. An agnostic libertarian, Grisham challenges some of the "cult"-like practices in today's groups and encourages you to think for yourself, live without fear, and tap the resource of power that resides within us all. Warning, this book is dangerous to those who enjoy being sheep.

Been in the program for over 20 years. Started as a die hard traditionalist but eventually got to a point where a few things just didn’t jive. This book helped me realize that is ok. It took some of the ways I felt, showed me a different angle and helped me grasp it in a way where all is ok.

A slightly different approach

Awesome experience, strength, and hope! Agnostic point of view that is spiritual and enlightening. And I'm a believer!

Loved every aspect of this. I'm just under 2 years sober and this was incredibly helpful, his perspectives are laid so they make sense to everyone in sometimes extremely unorthodox ways.

Phenomenal 🤟

I truly enjoy Jack Grisham’s take on recovery and wisdom on the steps & program. The reading here is better than most audiobooks I’ve listened to. Highly recommended.

This was life changing. I recommend this book before and after reading the big book. It has good tips to use while reading it and then gives some interesting perspectives on what was just read. The narration was also very good!

Enlightening

Thank you, Jack, for writing such a lovely book. You have touched my 2 years' sober heart. Especially loved the bit about your daughter toward the end. Way to go, man. You're an inspiration. Thanks again. Patrick, Bellingham WA
