Publisher's Summary

Who has co-opted the American Dream? The Right? The Left? It may not be who you think it is.

Republican vs. Democrat

The Haves vs. the Have Nots

Left vs. Right

Us vs. Them

We believe these are the divisions that are threatening to tear America apart. But what if the culprit isn't a political ideology or a class of people but a puppet master? He's been manipulating us for centuries - and now he's brought us to the brink of implosion.

It would take a special kind of sinister to hatch such a nefarious plot against our civilization. Who, or what, would be capable of such a conspiracy? All there is to go on is the cryptic message:

You'll never guess my name.

must read

a brilliant writing that is an absolute homage to CS Lewis. gives a staggering observation of our society, and a pretty spot on assessment of how we got here. Definitely a must read ...

An important eye opener for everyone

This is an excellent book, it brings perspective to how far we have fallen as a society and offers a sobering tale of our demise, awakening the logical question “can the ship be righted?”

Unique perspective

Descent has a very creative way of explaining how our country and it’s going people are going toward it’s demise.

Brutally Honest

There is no doubt in my mind that what Steve has written here could easily be a true demonic manuscript about how we have been aided in our attempts to turn our backs on God and walk straight into hell ourselves. So often, politics is where our conversations end. However, as this book makes clear, politics may be the arena, but the true issues reside in matters of eternal importance. The church must wake up and stop talking about Jesus as is he were some squishy hipster. He is not! He is the Son of God, the Word made flesh. It's time that Christians storm the hills that the seminaries and head offices of the church reside on and overthrow their progressivism with truth. Thank you Steve for being willing to write this book, though I imagine it couldn't have been much fun.

Strangely Accurate

a good assessment on where America is heading without God from a dark and twisted perspective.

Kind Of Repetitive

Would you try another book from Steve Deace and/or Michael DeAngelo?

Yes

Would you recommend A Nefarious Plot to your friends? Why or why not?

Maybe - Depends on if they like the genre.

What about Michael DeAngelo’s performance did you like?

Michael has a great voice and reads well. No complaints.

Could you see A Nefarious Plot being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Maybe. I don't know TV stars very well.

Any additional comments?

The real problem I had with this book is that it relies on the ideas of Calvinism too much, which pretty much invalidates the premise that Satan is responsible for any evil whatsoever, as he more or less had no choice in his destiny. Once you realize this about halfway through the second chapter, the rest of the plot becomes a meaningless rehash of things bible students will already be familiar with. I don't know if people not familiar with religion would find it more compelling, but I got bored about an hour in.

A demon’s manifesto

There are many books that try to explain what is going on in current events through politics, religion or culture and usually it’s the same damn thing, rewritten by another author wanting you to buy their “latest and greatest”. This book, however, actually brings in a unique perspective, it is written from the viewpoint of a demon General, Nefarious, who explains how the occupants of hell have set out to destroy America and what they have done. Great with sarcasm and the cynical voice that needs to be heard.
