A Most Civil Proposal, a variation on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, examines and explores how the lives of the two main characters and their families and friends might have turned out differently had Darcy realized his error beforehand and thus avoided being so forcefully instructed and corrected by the love of his life.

Very Good Variation

This one of my favorite Pride and Prejudice variations. Those who do not like non-canon stories or mature content may disagree, but for me, it’s excellent. I’ve read the book a couple of times and wondered what it would be like as an audiobook. I wasn’t disappointed, with just a couple of minor exceptions. The main one is that of all the female characters, the narrator seemed to make Elizabeth sound the least feminine. Second, there is an error in the audio where the first few words of a sentence are repeated.

I do highly recommend both the book and the audiobook.

Love it

Great story. The audio was really more unique than other stories I’ve listened it. The background sound were also a unique touch too.

music!

The narration was acceptable, not great but O.K. it is difficult for a man to speak in a feminine sounding voice. However, what was annoying for me was they created a break between all 30+ chapters and played music that I didn't particularly like.

A different take on a great story!

Although the format of the production took a couple chapters to get use to, I very much enjoyed the story and performance. This was a well thought out “what if” story and is well worth listening to.

Unexpectedly Steamy

I’ve heard P&P Variations by CP Odom before and, like those, this one is very well written with a nice twist or two in the tale. The sound effects add to the story and the narrator is talented. I recommend this to any JAFF lover, but, be aware this is NOT your G or even PG variety of JAFF. Other stories either elude to or flat out mention that both Lizzy and Darcy celebrate their marriage with both being either virgins or very inexperienced. It seems that this Mr. Darcy definitely knows a few things! It is not told in a crude manner, but it is absolutely for mature readers only.

Loved the performance

I like this author. The addition of music and background sounds were very nice. Music was queued perfectly at the end of scenes and chapters. This created a fuller listening experience. Enjoyed the story as I would any romance - not my top D/E variation though.

oh so good

I loved this book. I especially loved the sound effects that occur throughout the book. They just add to it. The narrator was good as well.

I might have loved the epilogue the most. The story was original yet stuck to Jane Austin’s version enough.

Lovely story

Well written story. And I loved the banter and quick wit by Elizabeth. I laughed out loud many times while I listened. I highly recommend this book to a Jane Austen fan fiction lover.
