Publisher's summary

Internationally acclaimed best-selling author Byron Katie's most anticipated work since Loving What Is.

In A Mind at Home with Itself, Byron Katie illuminates one of the most profound ancient Buddhist texts, The Diamond Sutra (newly translated by distinguished scholar Stephen Mitchell), to reveal the nature of the mind and to liberate us from painful thoughts, using her revolutionary system of self-inquiry called "The Work". Byron Katie doesn't merely describe the awakened mind; she empowers us to see it and feel it in action. At once startlingly fresh and powerfully enlightening, A Mind at Home with Itself offers us a transformative new perspective on life and death and is certain to become a classic.

In the midst of a normal American life, Byron Katie became increasingly depressed and, over a 10-year period, sank further into despair and suicidal thoughts. Then, one morning in 1986, she woke up in a state of absolute joy, filled with the realization of how her own suffering had ended. The freedom of that realization has never left her. Its direct result, The Work, has helped millions of people all over the world to question their stressful thoughts and set themselves free from suffering.

Spiritually excellent! A must read for anyone looking for truth, beauty, and peace

This book was absolutely wonderful! I’m someone who finds spiritual ideas deeply moving and intriguing. If you are new to this sort of topic, this book may be a lot to take on.

The book is filled with accounts of Katie’s unique perspective on the world. She effortlessly describes enlightenment and how it’s existence contradicts itself. This is a great book for anyone willing to give themselves to the world and receive everything in return.

Radical and eye opening!

Hard to realize for yourself but life changing when you do.

I had a hard time understanding this way of seeing life. The more you let go of beliefs the closer you become to your true self.

One of the most powerful teachings I’ve experienced.

While the teachings appear to be so simple, the results and impacts are profound. I’m very excited to share this with others.

The most beautiful wackadoodle process...

Listening to Katie is akin to an altered state. The deeper you listen, the more amazing it is. To use this process, which I have for many years, is to understand how I've innocently created suffering in my life through believing unquestioned thoughts. And by questioning them: Hallelujah! There is so much room for intelligence, creativity, and living to happen!

Simply magnificent

This author brings so much light and understanding to your own thoughts. She also teaches you how to navigate through your own thoughts and understand how you are treating others due to the thoughts that you are believing. She explains in detail how to break free from the very ideas that form your thoughts in the first place. Highly recommend this book.

Fabulous

If you’re wanting to find the peace within yourself and change your world, this work is a necessity. And the fact this book is read by the author provides the extra level of connection I was hoping for. It’s a wonderful book, I only wish I would have read her book much sooner. Thankful for these teachings and support and love by Byron Katie.

beautiful

This was an awesome book. The steps she describes to take for the work and doing internal inquiry can be a game changer if you practice them.
