There are four characters in every story: the victim, the villain, the hero, and the guide. These four characters live inside us. If we play the victim, we’re doomed to fail. If we play the villain, we will not create genuine bonds. But if we play the hero or guide, our lives will flourish. The hard part is being self-aware enough to know which character we are playing. Great book... over too soon!
I truly enjoyed this book. I'm not certain what I expected coming in, I guess nothing because it was a blind recommendation. Not knowing what you're looking for or what books you enjoy, I would recommend it! It kept my attention and I could listen to it again. Plus, there are some gems in here, things that will make you nod your head in agreement and rewind to hear it again. That said, I listened at 1.3 speed, just a side note. Get the book, you will enjoy!

Interesting book
This was a good book, I thought it was going to be more about riding across the nation but it wasn't. His life is very interesting and hearing how to write scripts was good. I liked his book Scary Close better than this one. There is a lot of great advice in this book that is memorable.

Perhaps my favourite book, ever.
I have read/listened to this book at least a half dozen times, and cannot recall one other book where I have done that.
I have given it to several people and recommended it to many more. I later hear comments from them such as “life-changing“ and “what I needed, just in time for me.“
A wonderful mix of wisdom and whimsy. Well worth your time.

A book to make you stop and think!
At first I wasn't sure if I would enjoy the book or not. I purchased it based on a few recommendations and this is one of those books that contains many hidden meanings and lessons. There were a few times when the narrator (the author) seemed dry in his delivery, (which is why I rated performance a 3) but overall the book's content made up for the delivery. I recommend the book for all of the life's nuggets. Create your own story and live life to its fullest!
