I had the honor and privilege of having a pioneer in the field of addiction and recovery Rick Dauer on as a special guest.

In this episode, Rick discusses his own personal journey through his addiction and how he was able to persevere through his struggles into a life of substance use recovery. Rick has had a profound impact on many people regarding his personal experience through addiction as well as his knowledge and leadership abilities.

We also get into the discussion on different elements regarding the field of addiction as it comes to the clients entering treatment centers as well as staff providing services to them.

Rick created great insight for the listeners from the point of view of the client as well as the substance abuse counselor. The discussion led to possible problems that could arise in the relationship between counselors and staff and how to mend them to improve the working relationship.
