Publisher's Summary

Abigail Schrock stands happily next to her younger sister as Joanna marries her childhood love. Joanna has been through so much and deserves this happy day, but Abigail can't deny the little thread of jealousy. She had hopes of having her own wedding soon - that is, until the boy who'd been courting her left her for another girl. A much prettier girl. Can any man love her after she has given her heart, her everything, to another man who so carelessly tossed it aside?

Asa Bontrager has returned to the Birch Creek Amish community for the first time since his family moved away. But this return is not of his own volition. His path has been clearly marked by God, but for what purpose, he does not know. He only knows that he had to leave everything and everyone he loved behind. At least, he thought he left everyone he loved behind, until he lays eyes on Abigail.

Asa knows his courtship of Abigail is what God wants, and as he spends more time with her, he begins to fall in love. But with all the heartbreak she has endured, can he convince her she is worth his love, and more importantly, the love of God?

Lots of different characters and Romances going on at once

This book had a more complex format to it than most Amish Romances. In some ways, I felt like it was soap opera format, where it kept switching to different characters. Since I am often doing something else like driving, housework, etc while I listen, I found myself saying “wait who are we talking about now? Which characters are these? And who’s relative/friend is this?” It was a good book. And the author did weave it all together in the end. It’s just different than most of the Amish Romances I have read where the story is basically based on one character or couple, that you fall in love with. I’m glad I listened to it, but I give it 4 Stars not 5.

This is ridiculous

I can't believe how elongated the story line is. It never ends! It's so frustrating I almost don't want to finish the book. Come on really? Let it be over. This girl needs to let it go.

Loved it, but like the other books leaves you wanting more to the story.
