Loved it!!!

I really enjoyed this book. I listened to the audio. James Joseph did an incredible job bringing Jasper and AJ to life. I enjoyed the story, small town life, loved everything. It was the perfect palate cleanser and I will definitely listen again.

Good read

I liked to see the chages in Jasper. He became a changed man with changed values because of love. I liked the conclusion. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life. I recommend this book.

Just what my heart and mind needed

I received an Audio version for free and promised an honest opinion.
Was this book perfect? No. Was it a perfect read for me when I needed it? YES.
The story of AJ and Jasper is sweet and spicy at the beginning. AJ is such a positive character from the start and Jasper and his "standards" is so typical "big city lawyer" but they click, they do work. They are what they never knew they needed for each other. And when the hurt comes we really feel the pain, on both sides. I liked that Jasper understood he couldn't just say sorry and everything would be as it was before, he knew he had to work hard.
I would prefer that some things were shown and not told, but hey, it didn't spoiled my listening. And, well, I'm just a greedy reader, always wanting more from the story.
Now let's go to the Audio version, because that was a perfect listening. James Joseph is a completely new narrator for me, but wow, he is good. All the accents he used and voice gradation, I always knew who was speaking.
So, yes. This book was a very pleasant story, I will come back to it for sure just because I enjoyed all the characters. I hope that the writers, who are also very knew to me, will continue they journey with writing. I will definitely want to read more of their book babies.

James Joseph narrating is the cherry on top!

True love, a bit of angst, and a hero!

One might say that sounds like the outline of so many other stories, but not so with this one! Maggie Goodwin and Tessa Lockwood wrote a love story and a fight for redemption.

Jasper’s personal trial of his own redemption in his own mind as well as for AJ’s sake was perfect!

I don’t want to give any more away, but I highly recommend this book, and like I said earlier, James Joseph is the cherry on top!! End of!!!

Amazing debut story!

I don’t know how to start this review. This story was so good. I’m usually not a fan of insta love, but this is a great example of how if you take the time to write well rounded characters, it works. AJ is young, happy, charismatic character that is was hard not to smile I got to know him. Jasper is a grump but AJ brings out the best in him which is why this insta love works. The chemistry between the two is delicious!

The audio performance by James Joseph is outstanding! He told and performed the story so well and added such depth to the group of support characters.

If you are on the fence, I say jump it because this book and audio are amazing and I promise you won’t regret it!!

Great Story & Narration🎧 Engaging & Heartfelt!

I enjoyed this book immensely, it is a well-written story with interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. AJ is out celebrating his birthday with friends and locals when he notices a new face amongst the familiar, an older and very handsome man who he needed to meet. Jasper, a lawyer, was in town for business, none of which he shares with AJ, though there was not much talking during their steamy encounter. But bad weather extends his stay, and he still did share why he was there even when he found out who AJ was. Jasper works for a company that is looking to buy up land in the area to develop and build on, including a large mall. The same company that approached AJ’s parents and offered a large sum of money for their farmland. AJ feels betrayed when he finds all this out and he wants nothing to do with Jasper after that. AJ left a huge impression on Jasper and he reevaluates everything he is doing, while it may be too late for him and AJ he may find another way to redeem himself and make things right. This is a fabulous MM romance, the writing, plot and world building are great, as are the character growth and development. The story has the perfect balance of drama, a touch of angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. Maggie Goodwin & Tessa Lockwood, thanks for the great story and emotional rollercoaster ride. 

🎧📚🎧 James Joseph was the perfect narrator to bring the character and story to life and did so with a complete understanding of who he was portraying, giving each their own voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who was who. I loved how he took each role and made it his own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. He set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. James Joseph is an entertaining storyteller and his performance elevates this already terrific story to another level. Thank you for another fabulous listen. 

You might like it, but not what I was expecting

The description of this story and the artwork pictured for it was misleading to me. I was thinking this was going to be a cute sweet rom-com set in a quirky country village, so I was a bit disappointed. This is 85% steamy scenes focusing on a dom/sub theme, with a little story line sprinkled in here and there. If you're here for the steamy scenes, this is for you. If you want a cute rom-com, I would look elsewhere. Although just about any audiobook is worth listening with this narrator, he really is so good.
