Rachael Herron is the author of more than two dozen books, including thriller (under R.H. Herron), mainstream fiction, feminist romance, memoir, and nonfiction about writing. She received her MFA in writing from Mills College in Oakland, and she teaches writing extension workshops at both UC Berkeley and Stanford. She is a proud member of the NaNoWriMo Writer’s Board. Excellent story telling

What a total joy to discover Rachael Herron. This memoir is so creative. While a common thread weaves each chapter together to paint the picture of her life, every chapter also stands alone as it’s own story with beginning, middle and end. I loved it! Instead of having to wait for the satisfaction that comes at the end of a great book, you get it at the end of every single chapter, as they each were stories that can stand alone in their own right. Rachael’s way of marrying her two loves to one another- knitting and writing, in such a captivating way is brilliant. Her narration is excellent. I feel like I’m curled up on the couch with my softest blanket listening to my bestie telling me all about her life’s adventures. I understand she also publishes fiction under R.H. Herron. While I’ll definitely scope out her other books, I sure hope she writes another memoir. I want to know what happens next!

If you are a knitter you will like this story

Some parts of the story I could relate to better than others. Rachael was a great reader and I think her voice added to the story.

Oh how I truly loved this book. There were times when I thought she was almost telling a story about my life. All crafters can relate to this book in one way or another. Highly recommend

A Must Readers for Non-Knitters As Well

I am not a knitter. I don’t really do much of anything with my hands except for the brief time when I explored, quite poorly, the world of scrapbooking. So why did I read this book? It was recommended to me, and I am so grateful that I did. This book is the author’s journey told through her hands and it is amazing. I could not stop listening. Highly recommend.

Inspiring

Although I'm a crochet addict and not a knitter I felt exactly the same at times. I could relate to this author in many ways. it was uplifting and real. I loved it. I will check out another one if her books. thank you for this!
