Powerful

This story is brave and authentic. Sanovia, the author bravely relays her experience with power, a commitment to truth no matter how painful, and I would add wisdom.

This is a story of generational violence that so often is left unhealed by those who inherit the pain and complexity.

The “journey to forgiveness” reveals the hurt and fear underneath the violence and how much spiritual strength it takes to forgive those who have hurt you and those you love.

The power of Sanovia’s voice comes through as she narrates…her book is intelligently written and courageously spoken out loud. This book exposes generational wounds I believe we all need to heal in some way inside ourselves and in the world.

Sanovia is clearly doing that healing work and hopefully will inspire others to break through denial and let the truth be a step into the process of healing trauma and pain.

The Final Exam

Strong, Powerful, Healing, Resourceful, Honesty, Life Changing, 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝒀𝒐𝒖 ❣︎ 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝒀𝒐𝒖 ❣︎ 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝒀𝒐𝒖 ❣︎ for sharing your truth. As a survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault I can innerstand the co-dependency. I recently found out the domestic trauma of my Grandmother received at the hands of my Grandfather. One beating was so bad she jumped out of the moving car to escape. My mother gave me the likes of those beatings, I can honestly say she was taught well from her experience on what to do. I overstand that she became who she was to me; because what happened to her. My forgiveness came through learning some of what happened.
I further innerstand she does not have the capacity to go through counseling now. I vowed to end the trauma of abuse in my bloodline through me. Recently I discovered I completed the task upon reflection by having a hysterectomy and no living children. The truth and sound of this testimony is healing in itself. The Body Keeps The Score, me personally believe the rape of your Grandmother followed your mother and you through your lived experiences.
I salute your Orí (inner God) and your Ancestors “Mo Júbà” I give my reverence.
